Why wouldn't i want support from my family if they want to help me and are able to? They love me and I am appreciate them for helping with my rent and allowing me to live close to work and focus on my career and education.

Are you at least vaguely aware that the fact that where as generations before were able to live on their own without parental aid at our age, our generation might be hosed over to the point where you either need mom to give you cash every month or make massive compromises? This is what pisses me off about my generation. We genuinely are worse off and can't afford the kinds of poo poo our parents did at our age, instead of trying to fix that issue or at least look at it, it just becomes "LOL can't afford a car, mom will buy me one"

i'm aware and thats why i don't feel bad about it. Our generation can't really "change things," we're too young at this point.

In grad school I knew quite a few people whose parents were helping them out a little here and there - covering their car insurance or helping out with rent, etc. But among others this was always met with extreme derision. If someone mentioned that John's parents pay his cell phone bill, there were always choice words for John, but never including "oh, that's nice they can do that." I never really understood it, but it seems to be a pretty common thing. Honestly, I think 90% of it is regular old jealousy, not "god you're such a millennial." To qualify this, my parents don't support me in any way financially and never have in my adult life.

Maybe it's the kind of thing that skips a generation. Your kids (well not yours, we're goons but you know what I mean ) will have easy lives of plenty.
