Thing was my starter character, and Storm my second freebie. Post-beta, but not long after the game's launch. I'm reasonably sure I hadn't unlocked any other characters before the eternity splinter system was introduced. I should check if I still have any screenshots from those days. It was a very different game.

Tbh my first two characters were Luke Cage and then pre52 rework Jean Grey. And by that I mean the very first rework. She never died man, but took forever to kill the thing. These are also the two characters I prestige regularly.

My first hero was herman torch, I didn't even finish getting him to 60 before jumping ship to level Hulk instead This was back when you got to choose from like 6 or 8 starter heroes and didn't get a shiny 400 splinters on day 2. Picked Thing, got Storm. Also bought Spider-Man pre-order pack and used G to buy Ms Marvel baller as gently caress edition. I think at the time Ms Marvel didn't take any energy damage so could be used to solo red terminals and stuff. Started as Thing and it was awesome but I quickly bought Hulk and Thor and didn't look back for a long time. I've been trying to go back to my old builds on my ult rank 20 heroes and update them. Got Thor all tweaked up but I'm still 5 seconds over Yepso's time because I refuse to use Psionic Overload (until it's mega-buffed anyway). Worked on Magneto but not for long, lol, he's bad. Fun sig in cdr though. Got War Machine ready for cdr then looked at the uniques I got doing that to see if there were any upgrades. Saw that all his uniques were designed by the universe's biggest rear end in a top hat as each has ranks to 4 to 5 individual skills. Re-shelved him. Tried to get melee Vision going again. Enjoyed him in cdr a lot. Went to the dummy after gearing up nicely with shiny new stuff and can't break 5 minutes now, ugh. Gotta do some ranged Deadpool ttk's to see if I can beat the current time; got his gear looking great. Got Ghost Rider's build and gear very updated but he's another I can no longer break 5 minutes ttk on. My old Vision and GR ttk's may have been on dummies with favorable affixes. So that's my life story since returning to the game.

The best part of the rouge build is those artifacts. Not a single boss to grind--one danger room arti, two easy to get event items and one you can buy from a loving vendor in act 9.
