in the first world, people actually eat real food for breakfast. I'm astonished that Americans still think cereal is acceptable as an adult breakfast food.

also some none americans

Americans seem to enjoy sugar and fat a lot so their breakfast foods are mostly that.

i didnt know what kashi is, but i looked it up and lo and behold: it's processed sugary garbage cereal full of sugar, but marketed as 'organic' and gluten free, for the extra lols. you suck at being an adult if you eat this

wildlife carers look after bats all the time, this one's a babby that had a broken wing iirc.
they're not really good vectors for rabies unless they're big ones like flying foxes tbh - it's more parasites you need to worry about but the whole point of the carer looking after them is to get them well and not infested :v
kinda important to the survival of a lot of endangered bat species

if you work with wild animals on a daily basis it's pretty much a given that you've been vaccinated against rabies anyway.

What does their size have to do with them having rabies ? A small bat caused the only death from rabies in 100 years in the UK

This. I grew up eating cereal for breakfast and enjoying home cooked meals for every meal with very little fast food and I still got moderately chubby because the traditional American diet is extremely carb heavy (lol @ food pyramid). I started eating more protein when I became an adult and when I finally started tracking macros to lose weight it opened my eyes even more to how whacky our food habits are. And even traditional breakfast foods like bacon and eggs aren't that great because then you trade your excessive carbs for excessive fats. So I pretty much eat mostly chicken, pork, tuna, egg whites, and protein shakes and I still end up meeting my carb and fat quotas by accident purely from stuff like the occasional tortilla to make a wrap or adding a spoonful of peanut butter to my shake. I can even remember the last time I had cereal or even had something on my plate that was mostly carbs like mashed potatoes. But with the energy I have now from my diet combined with the fact that I can actually see my own muscles now that they aren't coated in a layer of blubber, I don't even miss that poo poo for one second.

If you like kashi, just buy Krave and enjoy actual flavor and exactly the same amount of sugar. Also it has chocolate. That said, I only eat cereal at cafeterias and never buy it myself.

i really like that the meat and dairy lobbying groups were given their own portions of the food pyramid

tho my fav is that nutrition labels still don't have %daily recommendations for sugar can you guess why?

not that it matters anyway since they're allowed to gently caress w/ the serving size all they want

at least now there's a push to get "sugar added during production" on there that's ofc causing the various food lobby groups to wail and tear at their clothes
