I tried (and failed) to ride from Pittsburgh to Philly two years ago on the GAP and it was brutal but super fun. Depending on when you go, the crushed limestone can really suck your wheels. Consider running wider tires if you can; in my case I ran 25c but I would have liked 28c if I had the clearance. I went in early April right after snow melted though, so YMMV. Definitely play it by ear. There's a nice bike shop in Ohiopyle about 80 miles in, so if you forgot supplies or need something, this is the only place I know of once you're on the trail (but there may be more, check out info on Crush the Commonwealth for more useful tidbits) It's beautiful and fun, and I highly recommend it. If you stop in Pittsburgh, feel free to gimme a holler and I'll buy you a beer for your journey. |

You p much only go to the DC area of that path if you want to visit great falls. I love the park but that's prob cuz I visit it often

I'm DOING the Dirty Dozen ride this year for sure and I'm curious to see how bad they actually are. |

As a bonus if you ride to DC the train back to pgh (where shabbat goy and i will feed you beer) allows roll-on bike service and it's a beautiful route (though granted the first half is basically the same as the c&o route) Though since you don't live here it probably makes more sense to just fly back out of dc... |

Pitt to Philly is cool because you get to go through the abandoned turnpike, which is as spooky as it sounds (or so I've heard). |

HI alnilam, sorry I've not been posting much, working a ton of hours. And I agree with Shine, Rocket League is fun as gently caress and I've neglected like 5 other games that look really cool to keep playing it, it owns. If you are ever on late at night and want to play, add me Shine, PSN is DrunkDriverDad. Although I guess you might be on PC. e: oh forgot to talk fitness. I think my gains are either coming back way fast, or I have a bit of a mental block. Last week I felt like a 185x5 deadlift was pretty tough, close to my max. The other night I said what the hell, and threw on 225 and busted out 4 reps fairly easy. I feel like I'm back in the game now.

its all good man, I had a friend checking form, and I warmed up in small increments. One problem I am having is with my squats and I haven't tried anything heavy with those. My knee has been hurting like hell, tonight they hurt before I could even put weight on the bar. They haven't been caving in, but I suspect maybe I've lost flexibility and I'm not getting my hips spread out enough, so the knees are in a constant slightly collapsed in position from start to finish without moving, if that makes sense. I'm laying off the squatting and going back to stretching and foam rolling for a week or two, maybe do some body weight squats, and see what happens. Working 60ish hour weeks is surely going to take some toll on my body, so that's another gear in the works to consider.

it was the squatting that did it, although rarely they had hurt on their own in the same way, but not bad beforehand when I wasn't lifting. I think it may just be tightness. When I drop down to a squat, if i force my knee out with me elbow a little more, the pain seems to lessen so I'm guessing I just need to loosen out again. It's not a constant pain either, it lasts only a short while, unless I squat again immediately.

Yours is to eat some brownies, which is the same as mine! I love getting a brownie after I finish my workout. I'll stuff myself with sweets as much as I possibly can, but that's only because I know I'll be working it off come hell or high water. My suggestion is to take out "loans" on sweets and pay off the "debt" as it were, later! |

I buy gnc's generic protein when it goes on sale for BOGO 50% cuz it stacks with my friend's membership and it ends up being comparable or cheaper than online.
