My brother and I just listened to the new Anvil album together, it's just more of the same fun Anvil songs if you already like that kinda thing. Tracks 1 and 3 are dumb but the rest are enjoyable. Lips still needs to take a "less is more" approach with lyrics though, if he simplified that poo poo and just wrote more thrashy stuff they could be so good.

A friend's band spent three days and 600 euros in studio recording drums. After that their producer spent a week or so quantizing and replacing all the tracks with samples Like why the gently caress even bother at that point. The guy's a really solid drummer too edit: stop talking about djent idiots

It's a fantastic album and definitely blew my mind the first time I heard it. I remember trying to plug it to the Megadeth forums 10 years ago and sold it as "Strapping Young Lad meets Dillinger Escape Plan". I think I'm going to break that out again today. Thanks for reminding me.

Went ahead and bought Wanderer on the Continent of Saplings on CD and kicked in an extra buck because I saw Rae in Eight Bells little over a week ago. Came out to $16.66 with shipping, so I made the right call.
