Fairfax county is itself 10% of the state population and that's just one of the 4 counties you could characterize as NoVA (Fairfax, Arlington, Loudon and Prince William plus the City of Fairfax and City of Alexandria). It's nuts. VA has very quickly become a state like PA where you have lots of folks concentrated in NoVA/Richmond/Hampton Roads/VA Beach and not much elsewhere, similar to how everyone in PA is in either Pittsburg/Philly
