Pfft I only drive at 3X because I wanna be three times faster than everyone else. I assume the one that looks like a thimble indicates a defensive mode, where you can deploy armor plating and hunker down like a turtle.

If I somehow became very wealthy overnight, I could probably get my performance-hating grandmother into a Veyron without her realizing that it is stupid fast. I wouldn't let her drive it, I would just take her around on a Sunday cruise. They look like luxury cars on the inside, supposedly, and have good road manners. Only after I've dropped her off do I explain that it has 1,000 horsepower and can top 250 mph, just to see if she believes it.

donut posted:The impression I always got of the Veyron from journalists was that it was by far the most practical supercar. It could be well-behaved around town, it was surprisingly quiet when you didn't put the hammer down, it wasn't awful to get into or out of, etc, so i would assume its successor would have similar goals. They Veyron and the Chiron are luxury cars that just happen to have a shitton of power and go ridiculously fast ( at the 500kph speedo in the Chiron). That's why the whole "COULD THIS CAR BE A VEYRON KILLER?!?!" thing is ridiculous, because while all the so-called "Veyron killers" are really fast and powerful, they're one-trick ponies.

Couple of guys in India convert a Tata Nano into a self driving car. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mPanjv50TM Skip to about 3 min in. According to the designer, they had designed everything on the assumption that the car would be an automatic but when they bought the car realized it only came with a manual, so they had to develop a whole set of acutators and linkages for the computer to shift the gears. An "automatic transmission", if you will. Maybe given a few more years Chrysler or VW will eventually figure it out too.

The rear fins are perfect for integrating the rear spoiler.
