Day 2: Mangatepopo to Oturere by Euan Torstonson, on Flickr Day 2: Mangatepopo to Oturere by Euan Torstonson, on Flickr Day 2: Mangatepopo to Oturere by Euan Torstonson, on Flickr Yeah the rain splotches on my lens on the last one detract from the shot a bit but it was near impossible to keep the lens dry in that weather and I liked the shot anyway so gently caress it. The misty rain actually got into my camera and caused some temporary water damage (it eventually dried out and works fine now) which unfortunately took it out of action for the third day and caused me to miss what would have been at least two of the best shots of the walk. One of Mount Ngauruhoe (a conical volcano which featured as Mt Doom in Lord of the Rings) lit up with pink pre-sunrise light, rising out of a heavy bank of fog, with cloud rolling down either side of the mountain and with the setting full moon hanging just off to the right of the mountain. The other was of the sun (now over the horizon) casting my shadow into the mist, with a double rainbow around it, the smaller of the two rainbows forming, I poo poo you not, a loving halo around my shadow's head. gently caress I wish my camera had been working because everyone thinks I was tripping. Even my cellphone was playing up due to the mist getting into it too, even though it was in my pocket 99% of the time. Argh. Wafflecopper fucked around with this message at 08:16 on Mar 3, 2016 |

iSheep posted:I'd dig this if the highlights were just a tiny bit less blown out. According to the histogram they aren't, although the clouds obviously are. Unfortunately if I try pull the highlights down a bit it just looks worse. That's what I get for shooting into the sun I guess. Wafflecopper fucked around with this message at 01:46 on Mar 7, 2016 |
