My LP is unsynced. At the title screen the value never goes up, but when fighting ranked matches the LP-value updates properly. Even if I restart the game the value isn't updated at the main screen. Does anyone else have this issue?

Just posting to give the nth recommendation for the Hori FC4. I just got it today, so I haven't put it through its paces. But it feels REALLY solid and it's comfortable to hold in two hands if you don't/don't yet wanna lay it on your leg and piano the buttons. And I thought I wouldn't make use of the bonus features, like tilting the D-pad and adjusting the diagonal sensitivity, but I played around with them and I actually might. I think the only consistent complaint I've seen is the D-pad wearing out, not immediately but a little too fast. But I can't speak to that. And it was $30 from US Amazon with Prime. I dunno if that's the cheapest it's been, but it looks like a significant savings.

How are diagonals on that thing? I got the fightpad pro cause it seemed like holding db for charge chars could be problematic but i actually use the stick on it not the dpad anyways.

Keep in mind, I'm still basically "first impressions." And on the DS4 I was mostly using the joystick too, so I'm not a d-pad pro. Really good, for a d-pad. Their physical design is no different, like it's still a + rather than a dish or something. But there's a switch on the back, the kind you turn with a coin or screwdriver, that lets you make the diagonal area thinner or thicker. It felt good the way it arrived (I'd say as good or MAYBE a little better than the DS4 d-pad) but I tried it on the thicker setting and my accuracy is definitely a bit better. It particularly cut down on me neutral jumping instead of jumping in or out.

Dictator, Boxer, and Claw came about because of the name swaps made for English versions, right? Or do all the characters have nicknames?
|
# ? Mar 8, 2016 00:46 |

It's because of the swaps. Akuma/Gouki exempt for some reason.

It's because of the name swaps, yeah, so that people wouldn't be confused when talking about, say, the Vega vs Balrog matchup. Some of the other characters do have nicknames in either Japan or US, though they're nowhere near as widespread as those three. Cake Smashing Boob posted:It's because of the swaps. I'm also considering buying a second one as a backup because it's so inexpensive.

I seem to remember some games would handle uPnP on their own and do a bad job at it and thus became much better with matchmaking when you forwarded the ports manually, but forgot what game I'm thinking of. Anyways, might be the case with SF5. This is what I was thinking of, a post from a Warframe dev posting about how they implemented NAT-PMP support and made uPnP optional. It's weird to me that this doesn't just come from the ps4's sdk. LIke how do you even tell if a game has implemented uPnP, NAT-PMP, etc without watching ports with some instruments/

This is extremely cool, and I didn't see it posted yet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLmfWcIaAyE Karin can do some seriously cool stuff, and I have to say now that I'm starting to learn her meaty whiff setups you can run a pretty great offense with her overall. Also how did I never know that ex dash is completely 100% projectile proof. This includes weird things that count as projectiles like Bison's inferno and fang's ground poison cloud. Also it's really weird that Karin's second clp juggles, not the first. So you can actually reset off the initial launcher in the corner, which is pretty great if the person isn't expecting it. You can pretty much always get a dp out of most characters that have one by doing it, or you can do the forward throw meaty jab setup off the reset and get a weird pseudo-rmika mixup game going on. As Dhalsim, the hardest matchups for me are Ryu's and Ken's, but that is also because I still get tricked by wake up shoryukin, but I'm starting to easily block and punish that. Something clicked today, and I actually won 7 times in a row and went up to bronze from 0LP. I bet people who see my win streak are thinking "ugh, a rage quitter.", but I'm not I fought a dude named Papa_geif, and he was a pretty fun gief player, he woulda won but I realized that I just had to stay really far away from him and won barely. How do you keep away from his running grab? I would hold back and still got caught, I'm guessing a jump/jump attack? It seemed to work a few times I did it, but is that punishable? People also need to get better at punishing my teleport, I'm incredibly awful at covering it with a fireball and I deserve to be smacked in the face for it every time.

So I've mostly got the TK instant air legs down, I do 236963 double-tap mk and the key for me was figuring out the button press needs to be after you've hit the minimum height -- it doesn't really matter so much which direction you are pressing as it does that you are above the minimum height. However, watching replays, it seems like the pros do neutral jump legs a lot for in your face pressure. . Has anyone figured out how to TK that, if it's possible? Someone tweeted that you can do neutral legs with 236863 but I feel like you need a hitbox to go from 6 to 8 like that, but maybe I just need to git gud. Or do you just do 8346, really quickly? I've tried that a bit and the fastest I can do it only gives me 1-2 hits, while I can consistently get 3 from the UF TK motion. But maybe if I keep practicing. Definitely stop pressing b+MP, I'm really not sure how or why you have that as a habit but it's the biggest immediate problem you need to solve. That move is pretty much just to let her get a beefier hit confirm off of certain hits, like j.lk (her only cross-up capable air normal) You need to not press st.mp or cr.mp during footsies (use those buttons for pressure when you KNOW you have advantage), stick with st.mk and cr.mk (try to hit-confirm cr.mk into spiral arrow, especially if you're whiff punishing something). Press way way more st.mk btw, and move around more (including backwards), you're standing in one spot pressing the button sometimes like that ridiculous rear end bot in that video from earlier in the thread. You need to actually use your V-Trigger cancel, poke with cr.hp and just cancel it. If you get a hit you can confirm into st.hp xx v-triggered spiral arrow, v-triggered cannon spike for 300+ damage, on block you're massively + so you can try mix-ups. Do a normal canceled into hooligan cross up dive kick for a baby mode mix-up that will probably hit 95% of people online. Confirm into cr.mp xx whatever. If they do block you're STILL + so Do More poo poo (staying active is a theme for good Cammy play) Note that you CAN also poke and V-trigger cancel with st.mk and cr.mk but I wouldn't recommend it, you get so little advantage on hit that you only get a small follow-up (if any, depends on distance). Please make sure you are strong at hit confirming into super. Until you are I would recommend spending your meter mostly on EX divekicks as often as you can. Good luck!
