laserghost posted:I could go for those she-vampires, if you catch my drift I had this game, and it was pretty good. Atari 2600 games honestly never looked good, but the series of games that this one belonged to used a large cartridge add on that plugged into the 2600 and then you loaded it with the game from a tape player. I had 4 of the 7 or 8 games that Starpath released for the 2600, and they were all exceptional for the 2600 anyway. I still have the cartridge packed away somewhere, but I lost the cassette tapes with the games on them long ago. CMFOS was essentially a Galaga/space invaders hybrid.

There's that neat DADA one and a bunch of surrealism and vaporwave and minimalism. 'Bad' to me is more like Dark Souls, which gives no clue as to how good the game is, and fits in with a dozen other covers.

Master System games usually have the worst art. This one is the worst I've ever seen(sorry for the crappy cell phone pic): I picked this up at Goodwill over a decade ago. I've always wondered about it. Did the kid do new artwork for all his games? Or did he just have to replace the art on this one after some jerk he lent it to left it in the rain or something like that? To be fair to the kid, if had drawn it on graph paper, you might mistake it for the real cover:

elf help book posted:Woah. Originally, the Atari 2600 only supported 4kb of game ROM per-cartridge, with a mere 128 bytes of RAM. The Supercharger expanded the RAM by a whopping 6kb and allowed multiple game loads from an audio cassette, allowing for larger, more detailed games (so you could have, for example, 4kb of data per-level, instead of for the entire game!) Over time, ROM chip prices lowered and developers mastered a technique called "bank-switching" that allowed instant swapping between multiple 4kb ROM banks in one cartridge. This eventually took care of any benefits of developing for a bulky, expensive add-on, and the Supercharger was confined to history.
