yeah I've started watching your videos they're very helpful thank you.

Right now I'm trying to train myself with vega to do two different combos on hit confirm. One where I finish a combo that pushes me back out of most attacks and lets me block and one that lets me go in for a little more damage if it confirms in.

One thing to add, if you could put like keys on so i could see what you press for some videos or when you press it that would be super helpful. Like you were talking about OS tech throws and I wasn't sure exactly when you were pressing things or not because it didn't have inputs pop up on the side. Granted I was only half watching it at the time because I'm practicing hit confirming first...

Another question I have for anyone who can help clear things up is extra inputs.

RIght now I"m doing a jumpin attack where I do a J.HP -> HP when I land and i noticed I tend to press the HP key two times extra than I need to while still falling. Does that add any lag or delay to the input? It still combos but I think its bad form to have extra inputs.

I've watched some of his replays (he's Option9 on CFN) and I've noticed he does something similar for the instant stop.

His instant stomp into legs looks something like this on the input display, with chun facing right:

The reasoning Birdie is further to the right is because he relies almost entirely on 2 hit light confirms which are the hardest thing most characters have and his are also unsafe if you mess them up. He also has very situational confirms from vskill stuff, negative edge specials, and a lot of unsafe/scrub trap moves that are harder to use "correctly" than some other characters.

The reasoning he's so far left is you just kind of press random buttons and anti-air with cr.MP and you're 80% there.

Remember a lot of things won't actually cancel into the special unless you connect with the normal. Not sure if that's what is happening here but just in case

That's because you can't cancel Vega's cr. mk. You have to link Cr. mk, cr. lp, and then do qcf lk. Also, you have to be pretty deep with the cr. mk, otherwise the confirm link will push them too far for the roll to combo.

Also, that's a claw on combo. If you have your claw off, cr. mk, cr. mp, qcf mk combos, and if the crouching punch connects, the roll will connect. If they're too far, the punch won't connect and the roll won't come out, leaving you a bit safer than with the claw on combo.

Went to my first tourney, I ended up taking a match in losers bracket but overall got bodied. It was a good time but I really need to get my own stick so I don't have to borrow my friends. I saw that like 1/3 of the people had the Hori rap4. Would people recommend it and have people had any issues trying to use it on pc?

I use it, would recommend it, and it works on PC if you use x360ce

Works fine on my PC without any 3rd party hardware. Sorry for the scrub rear end question. Trying to learn Fang but find myself eating hits every time I try to break free from a combo or block string. Would appreciate any advice.

I don't think SFV is all that pretty (a lot of the characters look like garbage) but it's a lot more appealing than MKX

Once Capcom have taken care of the functional poo poo it would be great if some of the uglier characters got a second or third pass-through as Chun and Ryu did, I honestly wanna tear my loving face off every time Ken's banana ponytail clips through his Under Armor shirt on the CSS

To expand on learning Karin:
I got the hang of instant Tenko after a few minutes with the practice dummy. The thing I have trouble with is that her basic hit-confirm string is crMP->stMP, which doesn't give her a lot of range to work with. You basically have to do it as a wiff punish. That can be hard for newer players; I still battle my instinct to punish with a sweep or standing MK to keep my distance.

After about 120 hours with the game so far, I have concluded that SFV for a large part of it's development was intended to be a F2P game, but they decided to slap a 60$ entry fee on it and see if they can get away with it. That is the only explanation that I can think of for it turning out the way it did, from everything looking like poo poo, to the grind or pay model with the costumes, and lack of arcade mode, characters and content being added over time. Next update the shop will introduce a new item, 5$ for a month of double fight money!
