Great, we get to hear Kasich speak about his "positive campaign" and blah blah blah. The guy has the charisma of a wart infected penis

oystertoadfish posted:ted cruz is winning the counties where asheville, raleigh, and chapel hill are located. i'm thinking that a fraction of the kasich/rubio support has started to go over to him. might be premature analysis Exit polls show that Cruz does well with young Republicans, so Raleigh and Chapel Hill isn't too surprising. Asheville is known for being liberal, but Republicans in Buncombe County are super conservative and religious.

I'm sad since this is the first primary I've voted in where my guy didn't win (out of a total of two). At least I can now fully commit to enjoying Republicans tearing themselves apart and Hillary dunking on whoever is left.

OldSenileGuy posted:Is Kasich mathematically prohibited from getting to 1237? Is a ratfucking his only hope? After tonight, he needs to win something like 112% of the available delegates to win an outright majority. And a contested convention is ~democracy in action~, not ratfucking.

What's Kasich's long term plan here? Ratfucking Trump is already a huge risk, how does the plan to get Cruz too, for that matter, how does the get the seven more states he needs to be considered for the nomination ?

God I can't wait for Trump to have the most delegates and the most states won, and the GOP fucks him at the convention

When Bernie eventually drops out I hope that during his speech he backs Clinton he literally calls out any of his supporters who might be considering voting Trump out of spite and outright call them "loving idiots."

Three Olives posted:Doesn't matter, Cruz has no path to win the nomination on the first ballot now and let's all remember, everyone hates his guts in the establishment that would have to cut the deals in a brokered convention to get him the nomination. probably, but i think cruz will have a lot of delegates who are pledged to other people thanks to his strong organization and his following among movement conservatives, in addition to probably the second-largest pledged vote count, and not every mover and shaker in the gop is a senator, there's people who he maybe hasn't alienated yet also, and i know these things aren't decided with dispassionate foresight, i think that if cruz is second in delegate count and they pick someone over him that he'll be screaming for four years about how the gop didn't go with a true conservative and how he has to be picked next time
