This was already a modern legal card but yeah that might work in standard?

Angry Grimace posted:Having talked to like 5 people about it I'm convinced what people want is not Japanese mythology world, its just anime world without having to learn how to play Force of Will. I dunno I think a magic set that was actually based on eastern mythological themes and conveyed them properly through the cards instead of whatever the gently caress Kamigawa was would be pretty good. Scrapping the Legendary theme entirely might have given Kamigawa room to convey its story elements properly, because there were too many random legendary creatures that had no relevance to anything and were essentially no different from generic creatures.

Epiphany at the Drownyard XU Instant (Rare) Reveal the top X plus one cards of your library and seperate them into two piles. An opponent chooses one of those piles. Put that pile into your hand and the other into your graveyard. Insert Jace flavor text here Basically a slightly less godawful Steam Augry, but it still has the issue that your opponent gets to pick rather than you.

the Orb of Zot posted:Epiphany at the Drownyard It's more skill-testing for you than your opponent, but still a high skill-test card. I like this a lot more than augury, but I did think it was FoF when I saw it at first, and now I'm sad.

Orange Fluffy Sheep posted:That's a good name for a band. Epiphany! At the Drownyard Card is bad, the reason people didn't play Steam Augury wasn't because of the mana cost or the number of cards. I can't imagine we'll ever see a "you choose which pile you get" card again.
