But you can do that and not have him be a complete moron if you put a little bit of effort into it. which would be cool... but you'd have to make the the sub-plot of a squeal to an actually successful ff origin story which would mean making ben take a back seat in that which will piss off comic nerds (no offense LTW) because he's one of the most iconic hero's ever either that or you just make a movie that totally skips over their origin and goes strait to "being a super hero sucks" as the main sub-plot

Thinking about it, sharkie may be onto something with ff and their powers and translating that to film. Unlike pretty much every other mcu character so far, their powers aren't directly related to punching people (barring Ben, of course) and you have to kind of write a story around their powers and I'm guessing your average screenwriter just isn't gonna be well versed enough with them to see what the comics have done and be able to make it work on screen.
