i think death flags as a concept are more a condemnation of the kind of stories we see, that so much of it has become ritualized to the point people can confidently call them out when they see, but also its super annoying that people will call any single action or case a death flag and speculate heavily on it until it either happens or it doesnt and then they get to feel smug about being right.
