I think it'd be hard to turn down a good paycheck and a chance to drive really, really nice cars every once in a while. Since they have 23 hosts now, he'd probably have to be one of the homebodies while Joey and Captain America do the globetrotting.

If I had money I'd fund an entire series based entirely on James May just dicking around on some weekend projects. The title would be James May Does Stuff.

My second project would be a short film called Rowan Atkinson Makes Faces to Various Stock Sound Effects.

He does minor roles and commercials though. He's probably set for life from Mr Bean and Blackadder fwiw, but it's not as though he'd outright refuse I think. His SiaRPC segment is one of my favorites too.

Include Edd China from the Wheeler Dealer and make a show called "James and Edd Fix Things". Put everything on add-revenued Youtube channel and ask the bank manager to call when your bank account hits one billion.

I need something to watch. Used to watch Wheeler Dealers but got burnt out on the formula. Clarkson hasn't put out any specials lately that I know of. I've watched both seasons of Cars of the People. Haven't seen 5th gear in a couple of years; has it gotten any better? Any of the TG US/Oz/France or wherever else they do it any good?

I'm not really interested in shows where they build projects. Sometimes I choke down RCR; Everyday Driver can be hard to watch sometimes but has some good behind-the-wheel insights.

Chris Harris is really good. He hasn't posted in a while but theres a ton of backlog on his channel as well as /Drive

If you want to stick with the Brits, watch Harry's Garage as well. He's a rich gently caress who only likes V12s and actually drives his classic super cars.

This isn't on his channel but it's fantastic:

Watch top gear us from session two onward. The first season they try to clone the original show and do it badly but after that they just do cheap car challenges every week and it's a lot better.

Also roadkill.

This had become my new favorite Youtube show. Bad Obsession Motorsport is two guys in the UK that are "trying" to "fit" the entire running gear, drive train and engine from a 4 wheel drive Toyota Celica in to a classic Mini. Its a very funny show and I am constantly waiting for the next episode. Well worth your time.

The best show. They really know their stuff when it comes to fabricating. And they way they document it - one could almost watch it as a tutorial.

It's not too hard to figure out, but it is an incredibly annoying format, especially for AMA's where you might see the top question start with "so you said in a previous answer you liked puppies....." and then you cannot find the question they are referencing.

But apparently people like it, does that make us the old crotchety people of the internet?

it allows you to have multiple conversations about one topic. The only problem is it branches off so often that you can't really follow along with anything. Someday, someone will figure out a decent way to display conversation threads.
