i'm gonna give the code another shot. i ordered an 87 w/clears which i got once before a long time ago but the spacebar was really pingy so i returned it. if it does it again i'm just gonna buy some cheap dampeners which i'll probably end up doing any way and then wait for a cool key set to show up on assdrop.

actually, yes. fixed keys that have kinetic feedback that travel back to the individual key once it's pressed. similar to how macbook trackpads fake a "click", but for each key.

I'm thinking more like having strings tied to each key and you have to puppet master your typing

dont use powder it'll just get inside the switch.
remove the spacebar and the enter keys and check that the stabilisers (either side of the switch) aren't hosed, possibly also try re-mounting the bits that go on the stabiliser wire.
you can also try lubing the stabilisers w/ a silicone based lubricant (not a super viscous one, that'll just get dust clinging to it).

my most recent keyboard came w/ the stabiliser wires all lubed up, and actually has stabs instead of just the wire w/ no uprights. Def get one w/ proper stabs if you have the opportunity, cherry makes them for a reason
