Not sure if they do this for dependents but doesn't ID office require biometric scanning to confirm? It's better than a photo.

The did biometric scans on my wife and son when we showed up here in Japan. I've not ever been on a navy base before so this was the first time they'd been to RAPIDs or whatever it's called.

If the biometric thing is standard at all bases, they should be able to take a fingerprint or something to prove she is who she says she is.

They've done it at the four bases I've had to do ID card poo poo at since 2004.

Man even when I got here in 2013 it was only E4 and below need it after 9pm, which sometime in 2014 changed to no buddy period if you're permanently stationed here and extending the curfew an hour. But that's just the big USFJ policy.

Ran into an actual human at the id card office that bent some rules enough that they allowed her documents already scanned into deers validate identification.

Even though her social security card was still technically in her maiden name.

Weird when you find competent people with some common sense working in government offices.

Except that your wife will probably get arrested at the airport trying to go home. She's on the no-fly list now.

What is up with that superstructure/wind sail? Is that some sort of concealment for coming into port or actually just made that way?

That ship has scaffolding and wrapping just like if they were in the shipyard or similar.

That's a ship that's in the yards. It's completely OOC and is wrapped up because they're doing work on the superstructure. Someone hosed up with securing the ship and it's helpless out there without tugs.

I wonder how much poo poo people got from outside. How many phone calls/fun jabs do you think the skipper/cmc/xo etc got that "hey, heard you got underway last night"

Head down to your nearest naval base and head over to the shipyard area and you'll surely see a ship or two bundled up in a similar fashion.

The difference is they'll be better secured to the pier. If there's a potential for break away like happened in the pictures above, they'll usually have some sort of heavier duty lines or even some wire rope to keep from moving.

In my experience they're usually secured by more than one line. Also that poo poo looks thinner than the stuff we used in bootcamp linehandling and also literally every ship I've seen.

If it was Dillingham Air Base / Mokuleia Airstrip then visit it by going skydiving or get a ride in a glider. Also great windsurfing across the street and a hike right behind the control tower.
