It's definitely not great. The main novelty is that it has a metagame component like imscared and the game changes over time, but there's hardly any gameplay to speak of, you just wander around a ~spooky house~ looking for cassette tapes to play in a machine, so you can listen to a ~spooky monologue~. Even at only 3 dollars, I'd say it's a coinflip whether you'd find it worth your time/money. e: Although I'm not familiar at all with Horrorshow's other work, so maybe that's just where the bar is, all their other stuff looks equally trashy and low effort. I wouldn't worry too much, they're projected to drop in population around 20% over the next 35 years because of their lack of immigration. Needing tax revenue could do a lot to change their attitude.

I got SH1 from the PlayStation Store and it was great until the final boss and subsequent cutscenes, where a high-pitched drone noise simply wouldn't stop. Couldn't even hear other sound effects or anything. Weird glitch, dunno how common it is on this port!

It's not supposed to literally cut off other sound effects but it is loud and you'll hear it from its appearance until its death. Honestly though, it goes down in 30 seconds with the hunting rifle. It's not a difficult encounter.

Any good LP's of Bloodbourne? I've been waiting for Matty Matosis to do one like his Dark/Demons playthroughs, well, more of a tour really. That's what I'm looking for. Someone who knows their poo poo, isn't annoying and shows it off well. Tall order, I know.

Yeah I saw they had a crack at it, but it was a blind run I believe? I've been watching some VaatiVidya clips and was looking for someone who could dig into the lore and stuff as they went. Kinda similar to the way Chip Cheezum can do a MGS video and explain all the little things in the background as he's doing it, y'know?

Just got a backer email saying Nightcry comes out on the 29th. Christ that was a fast turnaround, I thought it wouldn't be out until late spring. It's pretty weird and looks kinda jank but the alpha I played had a cool charm to it that you don't get anymore. Like a j-horror b movie trying to be an american b-movie.

To be fair, the series is kind of among the scariest videogames ever. At least, 2&3 for sure. 4 was way too easy mechanically to be really scary.

My friends and I have played every Fatal Frame, and in fact it's the game that started what is now a weekly game night (since it was was 2spooky to play alone). But as the series has progressed, it's just gotten less...everything. Less scary, less fun, less interesting. The fifth one is playable, but the characters make such boneheaded decisions, ghosts are repeated so much, and I'm getting a little tired of the 'multiple characters' thing they keep using. Especially when all but one of the characters are inconsequential to the story as a whole. Edit: Like seriously! Stop going to the mountain you loving idiots.

I played the first one when it first came out here in the states and man, that was an amazing horror experience. Everything was so 'oppressive' about that game and the jump scares just completed it imho. I know the 2nd seems to be the cult favorite but honestly, that one started to wear on me towards the end. My favorite was the 3rd. I loved the "non-dream/house" sequences. I really wish they did more with that. Thanks for listening to my amazing FF opinions.

Bought Kholat and Firewatch on the ps4 today since I'm on spring break from teaching. I know Kholat is more obviously horror, but I've heard some good things about the general weirdness of Firewatch. Any general opinions on either? It was also my intent to at least try Silent Hill 4 and Rule of Rose this break. We'll see how far my mountainous plans get.

Finally got and immediately burned through Oxenfree last night. I don't want to say much, except that it's kind of like what you'd get if the entirety of Life is Strange had the same atmosphere as the last episode and a half, and then you threw 12000 voiced lines of dialogue ala Firewatch in with it. Everyone in this thread should buy it and play it in the dark with headphones on.
