Thing is Owen also comes across as a dick in his regular videos/streams. I can't imagine he would come off differently in the booth. He'd be among my last picks out of 'top tier pros'.

Gaby is personable, and somewhere on the spectrum like Kenji of good at magic but not quite good enough to make a run at it as a pro and good at public speaking.. Remember that Kenji had a shot at coverage for some lower key event last year? I think he's said on stream that coverage just isn't for him. Gaby did really well at it. She plays a lot of modo, and apparently she's going to do the stream during the week do coverage on weekend thing. She plays standard, current limited, and modern, so she should be well enough versed in formats to give decent analysis.

Outside of a bit too much nervous giggling, Gaby was perfect, especially when paired with LSV. I think I remember a bit more dead air when paired with Marshall but still overall the best coverage team by a long shot. Hagon is a big goof and an unfortunate looking man, but he's very charming and excited about the game. I'd rather have him doing the in between round stuff all day than watching BDM struggle his way through.

Like everything related to Magic, I'm willing to bet the commentators don't get paid poo poo because WOTC mostly just finds people willing to work for peanuts because they like Magic. Reading a weather forecast on the local news probably pays a lot better and requires doing less actual work than doing commentary for Magic games.
