pretty much anything having to do with industrial-scale animal raising is horrifying tbh and if a town has a rendering plant around the whole town has the smell of boiling blood; it gets into everything one of my relatives in Nebraska lives in a town like this feedlot is the same but swap poo poo for boiling blood

I once saw a pick-up truck with a giant piece of corrugated metal painted up like the confederate flag bolted to it's back (right below a window with a bunch of milita stickers) in Anoka. The driver had a mullet and an eagle tattoo on his shoulder. This has been my mental image of the average Anoka-ian ever since.

imho jastiger is right to talk about how much the south sucks but hes sadly outclassed in this nice midwest thread because iowa is the second worst midwest state(gently caress u nebraska) so he doesnt have much to add. seed savers is pretty good though so iowa has that going for it
