I think she was supposed to sacrifice a baby and chickened out, thereby losing favor with both Lolth and Drow in general.

If you have a backup of the save where Fabius was still in the party you can just export his character file and re-import it once you kick Valygar out.

Vic was a daughter of the noble House DeVir and a priestess of Lolth. The chances of her being other than pureblooded drow are basically 0.Arivia posted:I'm actually having a hard time finding information about if drow and elves can cross-breed, so I don't know. Half-drow is a technical term referring to half-drow elves anyway, and those are majority Loviatar or Vhaeraun. For interest's sake, the quickest information I can turn up on half-drow in 2e's time is from Drow of the Underdark quote:Contact and marriage with other elven races is encouraged [by the god Vhaeraun]. "Half-drow" usually breed true back into the drow race; Vhaeraun sees this practice inexorably raising drow numbers in surface lands. Shamans (Shaman, Complete Humanoids, Complete Barbarian, Faiths and Avatars, Player's Option: Spells and Magic, Complete Divine) Yet again, the idea of a shamanic priest is an archetype that D&D has had several goes at over the course of its life. The new SoD Shaman seems like a mix of some of the old 2e classes/kits, combined with the spontaneous druidic casting from the 3.5e Spirit Shaman. There might be more directly parallel classes, but I'm not aware of them. The calling of spirits with a dance, and the whole major/minor animal/nature thing, is related in the broad strokes to a function of the Shaman class in the Forgotten Realms book 'Faiths And Avatars', though changed up significantly. The FnA Shaman contacts spirits by weeklong rituals of propitiation and fasting in the proper areas -- a wolf den for a wolf spirit and so on. In terms of broad groups, there are the spirits of the dead, the spirits of animals, and the spirits of nature, which are also divided along lines of power: minor, major and great. You improve the number and status of potential patron spirits with your levels. Once you've secured a spirit as your patron, you can later call on them by dancing ritually, and ask them to help you out. In combat, that's mostly them mimicking a spell from their very limited lists, but you might also just want to see if they know anything about your latest problem. Actually fighting on your behalf is limited to the great animal spirits. The summoning has a success rate of 10% per round danced plus 10% per character level, maxing at 90%, so low level shamans are likely to spend several rounds if they can. Between that and the fact that you also have to take a round or two negotiating with the spirit once they've come, this dancing is a time consuming process with very questionable combat utility. Much like the BG ability right now, as I'm told. There's a similar factor with the ten rounds of preparation for the PnP Berserker's Rage: the tabletop designers expected you to have the time to prepare yourself for a fair number of your fights in a way which doesn't happen as much in BG. The Shaman's dance also benefits from its extreme versatility in terms of what you can ask spirits to do out of combat, essentially only limited by the DM's assessment of the spirits' willingness and ability. A prewritten computer game just can't incorporate that angle of interaction. The spontaneous casting ability of the 3.5e class actually has its roots in one of the earlier 2e takes, detailed in a book imaginatively called 'Shaman'. As you advanced in levels, you picked your spells, begging them from the spirits you interacted with: no preparing new spells each day, and no changing them except by renegotiating with spirits who were unlikely to be pleased with your treatment of their gift. In exchange, as long as you kept passing your Wisdom checks, you could keep casting those spells without exhausting them at all. It's weird and seems potentially very abusable -- an 18 WIS Shaman gets eight casts per day of each spell before their chance to lose that spell goes below 50% -- but I've never played one of these. In terms of the 2e tabletop classes' spellcasting, the 'Shaman' Shaman (Shaman squared? Shaman 2?) has access to all priest spells, rather than just the druid ones, but has to prepare them as if they were a level higher than normal. Only very specific spells related to shamaning can be prepared either at normal level or even at a level below normal, depending on the Shaman's specialisation. The Faiths and Avatars Shaman has a fairly restricted spell list, cutting out a lot of the Druid's directly combative and damaging spells for more defense and utility. (We can go over 2e's sphere system for divine magic when we hit Clerics proper.) Sleep of Bronze fucked around with this message at 03:18 on Mar 26, 2016 |

Best D&D Shaman class is the 3rd edition Oriental Adventures/Legend of the Five Rings Shaman, because it got an animal companion and could go around punching things. ORC SHAMAN.

Kick Valygar out, go to the character arbitration screen (if you're playing in single player mode, save and reload the save in multiplayer mode, same as you did when making multiple player-created characters to begin with). Once on the character arbitration screen, click Create Character on the empty space and then import Fabius' character file. Make sure the character arbitration options there are set to allow imported characters to keep their xp if you don't want Fabius to be level 1.

Like Neera turning into a wolf in a fight against Werewolves like "Oh, that's your whole trick? Pff, I can do that in my sleep. Or trying to cast Mirror Image." Or trying to summon an Elemental and giving the spell an AoE, which led to the whole party summoning an Elemental each (one of which had to be put down). Needless to say, that dungeon wasn't so hard with an army like that.

Or tall to the girl on the far eastern side of the map on the second level and deal with her problems. One of the NPCs involved in the quest will have a medallion in his corpse. I believe you can also tell the female courtesan you're there to kill the madam and she's like "Cool, she's a bitch. I'll let you in" but that may be depend on charisma.
