Yes. When you beat the boss of one map, you unlock the next in line.
BTW, the boss we're refering to in this case would be the Demon King. (AKA find the mission where the enemy commander summons Ganon.)

The line: Original Adventure Map (rest of lv. 1 weapons) -> Wind Waker Map (rest of lv. 2 weapons) -> Master Quest Map (lv. 3 weapons) -> Twilight Map/Termina Map (+ level weapons)

Again a very likpatous story
Is there a way to get into the upper right keep in Linkle's first story level? I mean I got the Piece of Heart/Container and the Skulltula so it doesn't seem like there's anything special up there but I always like taking out all the officers for materials and I was a bit annoyed I couldn't there.

Also is there any real point to doing the side missions? It doesn't seem like they give you any extra XP or rupees or materials or anything. I mean the Cucco Chicks I saved became Gold Cuccos which I guess means "Hey you have stronger officers on your side" but other than that it doesn't seem like they do anything particularly useful.

The tools of a hero mean nothing without a solid core.

Side missions seems to be the new name for "complications we're gonna throw at you that aren't technically story-critical." So "escort the bombchu to open the enemy keep" is a mission, and "an assault team is on their way to beat up your base" is a side mission. It's worth drawing attention to, but it won't auto-fail you if it fails, just make things riskier.

I got the game on my n3DS and the characters on my WIiU and it has taken like a half hour to buy all these drat badges from the badge market to upgrade them, hahaha. Next I gotta get each of them a Rupees+ weapon and see if any of them are any fun to trigger the Max Rupees Glitch with.

Do Faeries/clothes/food respawn in Adventure mode? There's so much stuff flying around on there I've had some "wait I thought I got that/was there always a shirt there" moments but nothing definitive.

You know what sucks? Clearing out the entire map and only having 800 kills :whitewater: Having to actively camp for enemy respawns and being careful not to take their keeps/outposts in order to get an A is some bad game design.

That said, drat do I love Legends. The addition of Command and being able to control multiple characters is a huge game changer for me, so I'm having a blast.

I can't believe they kept it at 1.2k kills for A ranks on maps in a game where there's like maybe half the number of enemies on the screen at one time. :psyduck:

Not that there was any reason this wouldn't work, but I got the Max Rupees Glitch on WiiU with Skull Kid. I also looked at the movesets for Linkle, Tetra, and Daphnes, but they seem like it would be sorta annoying to use them for the glitch as far as hitting from outside of the halo goes.

Also I completely don't understand Daphnes's gauge (except that Strong Attack refills it) or Tetra's Strong Attack.

Playing through Legend Mode with the new characters and then finally doing the Twilight map is probably gonna be enough to tide me over Nintendo-wise until Star Fox comes out.

It's really weird you have to do that considering bomb arrows are touted as her big thing, but yes.

It reminds me of Dynasty Warriors 8(Also hints of 4, in a way). See, you unlock your C5 and C6 by levelling, most of the time. Some EX moves are on the C5 and C6, and such can't be accessed. And EX moves are pretty much the best attacks of the weapon-even when they're not attacks and are just a buff.

If Daphnes's gauge is active, his attack speed becomes faster.

Overall I am loving Legends! There is one big negative I've run across that I haven't seen mentioned yet: big boss' weak point smash attacks aren't nearly so flashy anymore! It's just, they glow gold for awhile and explode. Where's the jumping and spinning and kicking it in the nose from 20 feet in the air?! The silly over-the-top anime poses are half the reason I play this game.

I actually love the elemental nova stuff they have going on in Legends, because I'm pretty sure I actually managed to hit someone other than the Giant Boss with it (and it also doesn't take long to execute which is one of the bigger problems when fighting giant bosses in the Wii U version).

It's got a question mark next to it for me, so that would make sense. IGN says it's for Link but I'm pretty sure their Legends guide is just a copy-paste of the WiiU guide. :(

Do you automatically get all the rewards when you beat an adventure mode level with the right rank, even ones that require a search? e.g. if I beat 7-8 with an A rank and then later come back and find the hidden reward, do I then need to beat the level again to earn it, or is it earned from when I found it?

You need to beat the level again (with an A rank if it's a gold reward) with the character who can benefit from the reward in question or, if it's on the map itself, take the character it belongs and find it during the mission. Note that if you can bring multiple characters, one of them has to be the character who can get the reward, though as long as they are brought with to the mission, they will get it if the requirements are fulfilled.

Also, if a reward's got a question mark next to it, then you don't have a character who can earn it and must unlock characters until you find the character who can get it. The map you're talking about requires Skull Kid for both the A Rank Reward and the treasure hidden on the map, and Skull Kid is found and can be unlocked in the area of the Adventure Map that unlocks once you've done the Ocarina of Time missions in Legend Mode.

I'm on an old 3ds and like I said in my earlier post I've frequently wiped out a map (no red, everything is blue) while only getting ~800 kills. There are pretty few enemies on screen at one time, and while I'm pretty sure that I'm hitting some enemies that I can't see, I frequently use special attacks only to see new enemies appear right where I used the attack once the dead ones despawn. :(

It's player damage, and it seems to only track damage you take while controlling a character. You can hit pause to see the value (as well as time elapsed).

Player damage. I can't recall how much a heart counts as, but different stages will have a requirement of 10k up to... I think 4K. Since damage from enemies also goes UP as the game goes on, in some of the later stages this essentially becomes "don't get hit."

Break pots. A certain pot will have the right kind of fairy for the My Fairy thing, provided that you're able to get them as a reward for that mission.

Yeah. Keep faeries are used for that map, bottle faeries are a reward in pots.
Food is also found in pots (if marked on the map rewards), clothes come from keep chests, and food can also be a random enemy drop but even using a Food+ weapon I've seen ONE so far that way.

Yeah 4,000 is the limit on damage for most of the high level maps which I believe someone said translates to 10 hearts worth of damage. Even ignoring the "All hits are devastating" maps, I've definitely done some levels on the Twilight Princess map where enemies can do more than 10 hearts of damage in a single hit. And that's not even counting the second Gold Skulltulas which always have the requirement "Finish the first mission and KO 1200 enemies while taking less than 4 hearts of damage." Most of the high level maps have enemies doing more than 4 hearts of damage in a single hit.

In theory yes, but some levels don't let you take multiple characters. I'm doing the level for Impa's Naginata for example and I only had the option to bring in one character. They may limit you to only one character for that mission, meaning you'd have to take Agitha to get it.
