Can anyone with a level 10 ship captain tell me how many upgrade slots the ship gets? Like, looks like line ships get one at level 2, 4 and 6, does it stop at three (like Escorts) or do line ships get another upgrade at level 8 or so?

Awesome, thanks! One more question - in the MP beta can you fight against bots solo or co-op?

At the moment you have MP 1v1 against another human player, or you can play Skirmish where you only face AIs solo.

Ahaha, I just lost a convoy attack vs an Ork player and I'm not even mad. Low-point variants with only three transports. Match starts and all I see is twelve loving sensor blips in four groups of three evenly spaced along the Orks' deployment zone. And him sending a chat message: MOIND GAMEZ! Cue a loving game of guess-the-blip, with the majority of them being loving Savage gunships and the transports being put one by one into the groups. Got close, but eh managed to ge two transports out.

Well played, sir. :golfclap:

I tend to be pretty competitive, but so far I just don't care if I win or lose: I'm having way too much fun sending kilometer-long ships careening into each other and watching them explode. :v:

In a ramming attack with two cruisers, I managed to blow up 5 savage gunships by plowing through the blob of them.

Ork vs Ork battles are like one titanic scrum where everybody repeatedly bashes into each other.

I had a match with another ork player the day orks came out. We both trashed talked each other, completely in character. I get the upper hand, and I have one kroozer chasing down his last escort. The trash talk continues for five minutes as this big ship can't chase down and eat the little one, and I finally line up a BRB attack, but miss him.

I microwarp jump onto his broadside and fire my torpedoes. All four hit, killing the weedy grot instantly.

This is the only way to do a 600 point convoy mission, 2 cruisers the rest escorts, keep the cruisers back and try to kill targets of opportunity while all your escorts are on auto and your transports take separate routes to the end zone. I did this to a chaos player and had 2 transports literally run on either side of his despoiler he was so baffled because i first did AAF on my other 4 transports so he was focusing on those while my swords swarmed all his ships. There is nothing better then watching a loving despoiler get swarmed by swords and die because his micro is being overwhelmed.

Players will always assume you take the easy route to, 1 side has asteroids and the other side has clouds? put 3 escorts near the clouds and 3 transports with the asteroids--it also helps to put the rest of your forces in the middle then start angling them towards your escorts pretending to give them away. I win like 80% of my convoy missions because of simple tricks like this.

Ahaha, I think I sorta-jinxed myself.

I kustomsied one of my Ork cruisers with double heavy kannonz on the broadside and gave it micro-warp jump and Waaagh! and the Goffs favour. And called her the Waaaghspite. And now she's getting heavily damaged every single time I take her out into the field. :v:

Pretty much. If the ship is already seen it won't take that away. What you want to do is Augur disruptor say, their entire fleet, then put all yours into silent running.

Well, no. I was floating the idea, but decided on other alternatives. My full naming gimmick right now:

Light cruisers: Dreddlotz, Invincibul, Orkney and Flashylieu (the latter two have prow-mounted megakannonz)
Cruisers: Kongork, Waaaghspite, Da Green Ghost (last one is Blood Axes with double launch bays and upgrades to mobility and stealth - nobody loving expects Orks to pull the invisible carrier trick)
Battlecruisers: Littorkio and Da Bismork - the latter is kind of a gimmick build: Double prow-mounted zzap-kannons, Bad Moons favour and as many upgrades on zzaps as possible. Gotta get them lucky crits and killsteals. Let's just hope it doesn't get engine-critted. :v:
Battleship: Yamorko

It tried to orkify some USN battleship names, but simply couldn't find any good candidates. :(

Two times I had one on one Battleship duels vs imperial players, and both times I won. They were incredibly close fights, one of which having the other Battleship burn to death while I had 25hp left. It's so fun to have tons of active skills because it gives you lots of options in a battle.

I really hope they don't nerf orks because they are so much fun right now. They're really specialized, being both slow and short range but they are devastating if you can get the opponent in a logjam.

I think the main issue is Taunt really, which is uniquely powerful in the hands of the Orks who are otherwise fairly well balanced. The fact that you can not only force an opponent ship to move towards you from 10k (!!) range but also completely remove their control over the ship for 15 full seconds, is ridiculous.

Me and my friends have a theory that skulls are just considered tasteful decoration in the Warhammer universes. Renovating your kitchen? You'll need at least five skulls to really tie the room together.

It's a cultural difference. In a galaxy where aliens really do leap out of dark corners and C'thulhu really is out there, human skulls are not frightening. To the Imperials the skull's main associations are humanity, divine purity, and legacy. And why shouldn't it be? It's a human head bone, maybe even of some prominent person who was associated with the place (wherever they installed the skull) in the past. It's a symbol of the human race. Duh. To an Imperial the idea of skulls being spooky or brutal would seem odd.

Alien skulls now that's spooky stuff.

Miro-warp and Taunt. For upgrades, get the extra void shield and AP shells. The generator security team isn't really worth it - too situational and the bonus is not good enough especially givne that the Dominator works best with Astartes favour, which gives you an extra 10 troop rating all the time anyway. Other than that, belt armor and maybe extra speed would work well on it.
