There is at least one minor, tiny area where the three enemies in there don't respawn, but that's all I've seen.

I finally found Rosaria so I donated all my covenant items and got a ring. Anyone know what that does? Also, what do the other 2 options on the menu mean. I see the number "5" in the text, so I assume I have to give up 5 items for... something to happen.

There doesn't seem to be video proof yet but consensus seems to be that both miracles and sorceries are bugged out the rear end right now and that increasing INT/FAI or upgrading spell tools have absolutely no effect on damage. If there was one thing that needed to be fixed in that day one patch, it's that, because the new animations for magic are incredibly good and I'm probably going to roll three different characters just to try out every spell in the game once it's fixed.

Yeah, I've been using Magic Weapon and it gives me a whopping +25 damage no matter what my INT or catalyst level is at. I thought maybe they were nerfing the hell out of buff spells but I guess spell formula bug is more likely.

My hopes are that they fix that scaling, and also that there is some sort of revelation about Darkmoon Blades and how on earth they are different from Blue Sentinels. Like, what is even the deal?

E: The other thing I think is weird is that I'm confused about Mound Maker summon signs. Like, what's the incentive to summon them? It's not a huge problem since Mound Makers can just get their shackles by invading, but it'd make more sense if there was a reason to summon them. If you summon and kill a Mound Maker, do you get a shackle of your own? CuddlyZombie fucked around with this message at 07:16 on Mar 28, 2016 |

I chose...poorly. Anyway I finally beat Aldritch and moved onto the area after DOTFV, and I have to say the hits keep coming in this game. I went down, heard a kind of screaming, went through the fog and... and then again after I did a bit of damage. And now I'm exploring upstairs and well The Way is Shut and it was the most amazing way of blocking my path ever and I love this game...

CuddlyZombie posted:That's how one would think it works, but as it is, they're apparently identical. You have to use your imagination for that one. A purple could come in handy as an escort through Aldrich Faithful/Watchdogs territory for example as somebody rolling with the purples might be a bit more comfortable with PVP than some white phantom off the street. Some will be totally ignorant of what a purple actually does. Some might summon you out of desperation for a difficult stretch in the game. Some might do it for funsies since there really is no telling what will happen upon summoning - a Moundmaker's duty can be fulfilled by killing another dark spirit. Sometimes you'll just be summoned so the host can kick your rear end just like a red soapstone sign. I raised my eyebrow at the covenant at first but I think theres plenty of opportunity for it to be cool, especially since the risk of just getting summoned into a gank squad is partially rebuffed by the fact that groups of 2 or more attract random invaders real easy and a situation with multiple factions fighting at once is where an errant purple really has a chance to shine. Please From just give me my blue eye orb, and put a PVP arena in the DLC, and this will have the best multi of any Souls game ever.

Yeah, it's pretty terrible. I just spent my last 10ish levels upping attunement and faith for my str/fth build. I mean, a 44 damage lightning bolt isn't the worst I guess, but time to burn a respec. I was going to make a build around the executioner's sword, what with 30fp on kill in the xb1 version, but I suspect that has to be bugged or primed for nerf, so wasted titanite too.

Before killing Yhorm and Aldrich , I activated the Dancer of the Boreal Valley fight and homeward boned out. Later after I killed Yhorm and Aldrich, you get teleported into that room to fight the Dancer. Since I has already started the fight, the boss was already there and was completely unaggressive. It let me kill it without fighting back and the ladder still came down after, so it didn't mess up my ability to progress.

That explains even high sorceries being piss-weak. Patch tomorrow likely only for performance, so I'll have to wait with respeccing my main and smashing NG+ Chameleon exists, 12 INT required. Six bosses needed to reach that point. I need to get that going on a twink-build. Not that many useful disguises outside of DS1 tradition. NattyBo I'm ready to trade you stuff once servers go back online, just that I need one more item: Solaire's shield. Where is everyone getting this idea that the unpatched Xbox One version is easier? I understand that the developers made a special supposedly easier version of this game for the press, but didn't that version only include a small portion of the game? I would assume that what I'm playing, which is labelled as version 1.0 , is the same code that's being pressed and shipped onto disc.

Actually for those of you with the game I'm reading that the red soapstone now works the same way as the Dragon Eye, more or less. Apparently you can now see red signs while hollowed, with the area boss dead, and only when playing alone without co-op phantoms. Can anyone attest to this? Sounds perfect if so. But it does sound like bullshit.

Anyone know the softcaps for pyromancy scaling? I saw a streamer getting what looked like meaningful increases increases on his pyromancy flame's spellpower even after 30/30 INT/FAI, which is kinda where I'd hoped the softcap would be. Or maybe that is it and the gains are smaller than I realized. I can't shake the desire to do a Dex + pyro hybrid run on my first playthrough, even though I know I'll be missing out on trying some fun quality weapons.
