These work by replacing another character (I think FANG because lolFANG) with Alex so definitely don't take it online. Either pull out your ethernet cable or block the game in your firewall.

I tried setting my connection restriction to 5 and just got two seemingly-lag-free matches. Got bodied by a Mika and then bodied a Ryu. This game can be fun.
