Are the Pirates on their way to being good again like they were at the turn of the 90s?

ScrubLeague posted:Are the Pirates on their way to being good again like they were at the turn of the 90s? The Pirates are one of the best franchises in Major League Baseball today. Let's discuss Josh Harrison: Despite being 5'6" at the beginning of 2013, Josh Harrison somehow managed to grow three inches between then and 2015. He came through the minors as a second baseman, but somehow ended up turning into a utility guy that can play everywhere. He is going back to second base this season and is expected to loving crush it defensively, despite not being much taller than the pitcher's mound. Josh Harrison opened the 2015 home season by hitting a home run on the first pitch, which is a great way to start a 98 win season. Josh Harrison is from Cincinnati and somehow is a good baseball player despite being from the same place as the Reds. Josh Harrison.

Luckily, we aren't the Phillies.

I assume since they're doing well tickets are hard to come by pirates bleacher seats are always cheap and they offer new ticket plans this season which are very reasonable. pens games are expensive but they offer deep discounts to students and sometimes the pens players come out after practice and share pizza with the students waiting in line for tickets

Is it true that Pittsburgh is where folks started removing "to be" from clauses, so that it becomes "needs fixed?"

Also gently caress that poo poo Pirates tickets are $16 and up because I can literally walk to the stadium at my lunch break and buy them at the window, and there are 81 home games every year.

Spak Brothers in Friendship has very good sandwiches much like Primanti's. I miss the Bloomfield Bridge Tavern for beer and pierogis, and Conflict Kitchen, and mussels at Point Brugge. I'll be rallying other ex-pats to watch Opening Day in New York, and can't wait to be home in May. I'd shoot someone for Pamela's in the morning - split sweet and savory, blueberry hot cakes with corned beef hash and eggs.

Now I can't make a nice loop down Pocusset, over the bridge, up to Greenfield Ave, and around to Murray when walking the dog, and I won't be able to til 2017. My dog misses making GBS threads near Magee field where all the nice trash cans are. : (
