Some guy talking about "pyramiding" itt which I assume means reducing weight until you fail at each weight. Is that good to do?

It is if you're on steroids. It's only really useful when you're already big and want to get bigger.

For everyone else it's just dicking around "feeling the burn".

Your body does the most repair and release of chemicals that numb pain at your moments of deepest sleep.

Most people take 3-6 hours of sleep to even get there.

Sleep is like 60% of gains so remember more sleep = more gains.

I saw a guy put 12 10lbs on and AMRAP to failure, take off two, throw them on the floor then do the 20lb lighter weight for AMRAP. Repeat til he was benching the open bar surrounded by every 10 lb plate in the gym. He's skinny AF

What makes you say this? Everything I've read has said that muscle exhaustion/high volume/low rest builds muscle (if not strength) as well as heavier work does. Why would the higher test from steroids make a difference? (Legit question because I pyramid and if it's a waste I'd like to know)

My training involves going 3-4 reps past failure on a lot of sets, the pump is so crazy even on isolation machines we do it

Emulating bodybuilders without juicing is wasting a lot of time in the gym to get mediocre results.

Maximising damage to your muscles is only relevant when your recovery is being similarly maximised.

185 5x5 was easy today. Felt light picking it up from the rack. Feel like i should have tried 205 again but decided to stick to 185 because I've failed 205 a few times in a row now.

Add some extra volume in. Like another set or two. Backing off works but is horrible in terms of long term strength gains.

Are noisy joints a really bad sign? There's no pain but sometimes when I squat one of my knees makes a little noise.

Also, any tips for keeping the foam pads in place on the leg extension station? They always slide outwards and sometimes I end up with my ankle right on the bare steel.

I have poo poo knees. Scar tissue on ligaments and "shallow grooves" for my patella. Both knees pop at least twice in the way down. Left knee pops and crunches.

My doc told me that crepitis, crunching, and popping is normal with my knees. He said that i should only worry if it gets louder/different or causes pain. He said he could remove the popping and crepitis via surgery but it would be purely cosmetic and wouldn't improve any function. YMMV i saw specialist and got an mri.

Probably just your tendons shifting around. When I rotate my shoulders it sounds like somebody down the street popping firecrackers.

For anyone unfamiliar with the term, crepitus is the sound bones make when they grind against each other, usually because they're broken or because the cartilage padding them is worn away. Definitely a thing to get cleared by your doctor before you work out. Good luck with your terrible knees, friend
