q1 is "more fun" in the new format, q3 isn't. Wehrlein though, nice. Also the Dutch commentator needs to be fired.

I think the way to make this exciting all year long is to make it just one long rear end session for the full hour, with eliminations every 2 minutes rather than 90 seconds.

they are doing these laps on super-softs and a single lap's worth of fuel. the gap between eliminations needs to be long enough so you can do a lap, pit for tires and fuel, then do a second lap. but refueling takes forever since they have to do it in the garage now. so it'd have to be like five minutes to make this work. and now it's a two hour qualifying session.
