it's more general. they can be very selectively affectionate, unresponsive to training, persistent in barking/screaming (good god, the screams) when they feel there's something worth barking/screaming about etc. if they're not interested in what you want them to do, then that's it. they're not nightmare dogs but you do have to actually train them and they'll always be a little idiosyncratic.
