Culinary science has gone to far. I told myself this must taste gross and consuming it will make you awkward and ugly in order to prevent myself from buying it.

Well at least it's clear on the always-important issue of whether their revolting cholesterol spread contains nitrates or nitrites, and whether or not they come from celery powder. That is always my primary concern when purchasing sweetened spreadable meat products.

I can't vouch for that specific brand, but it's pretty good when done right. There's a place down the street from me that uses maple bacon jam on their "chicken & waffle" sandwich, and it's fantastic.

Fun fact, celery naturally contains oodles of nitrites, and "uncured" bacon, salami, etc. tends to contain more nitrites than traditional meats that just use a pinch of pink salt. The whole uncured thing is pretty much a hoax to sell the same poo poo for more money to the uninformed.

Its just that for some reason when it is cured with pure sodium nitrite it is meat cured with an evil chemical, which is unnatural and very bad for you. But when it is cured with celery powder, in which sodium nitrite occurs naturally, which causes the curing process to happen, and even turns the meat to the distinct shade of "cured meat pink", it is "natural" and "uncured".

Wait, there is salt and nitrite in there? Is there nitrate? How can they call it uncured? Why not just use pink salt? Do these yuppies buy into this poo poo?

Following up from a few pages back about collecting things, I never really pieced this together before but I have a pretty big hoard of unopened action figures in my room that might be really awkward. They're not covering the floor or anything but there's figures on every shelf surface/table for sure. I sold off some of the stuff that has increased in value recently, but I don't really know what I enjoy so much about having this stuff. Do you folks think this is inherently weird/awkward?
