In context of the show right now, I don't think they really are though, I think she's the only main actress that does multiple nude scenes a season still and shows it all, even if they are very quick scenes. It does lessen the sting though of having her suffer a satisfying comeuppance and defeat at the end of the last season, only to have it pulled away from us with the added bonus of her being gifted revenge victories over her foes and re-installment in her seat of power to once again lord it over the characters that are actually entertaining. Back to the regularly scheduled programming and serious posting: this show is ripe for prequel spinoffs like Starz did with Spartacus, so before the show's run ends or even after, it'd be awesome to see a short 5-6 episode prequel series about one of the more awesome characters, like Vane or Flint. I didn't really care for John Silver until this season when he started becoming LJS and I'm not sure how interesting his story pre-Nassau would be. I think Starz only did the short six-episode spinoff for Spartacus because the actor who played Spartacus had succumbed to cancer, but they could do worse than a short series focusing on a cool supporting character in the show.

I'm just saying I don't think any of the girls on the show work out AS MUCH as Vane (can't remember his name) or Tom Hopper. If you did a behind the scenes thing on the show following all the guys and the girls, the guys probably do about 20% more gym craziness. Can anyone in this thread do 200 pull-ups a day? I sure as hell cant But it is hosed up some people are born looking like Rosanne....

Pretty sure MacGowan would be considered attractive to the opposite sex whether or not he worked out, just as I'm sure he worked out as much as he did because writers/producers/directors wanted him to be that buff for the role, not to fit some masculine ideal to be more attractive to women

In fairness, John Silver is also unreasonably ripped and so was Woodes Rogers. There is definitely a valid point to be made about male body standards in media, and no one (that I can see) is saying that discounts similar issues with regards to women.

Im saying that in REALITY I think it would be harder for a man to look like Charles Vane than for a woman to look like Hannah New. of course media has messed up standards for women.
