I just looked at the source of the share and went down the rabbit-hole, oh boy. Looks like some standard anarcho-primitivist manifesto of reasonable things like "world hunger is bad" mixed in with "how dare you educate my child, GOVERNMENT!  "Let's start off with a reasonable one:  Boilerplate anarchism, could be good guy hippie or could turn into  NAP crazy. Looking more like NAP crazy. Don't violate my NAP by forcing my children to learn how to hate! My eldest just said that he hates trigonometry, three years ago he didn't even know what trigonometry was "SCHOOLS"!  Now with added fluoride. I learned in chemistry class that there are regions of the world where the groundwater has naturally high levels of fluoride ions, and how that helped us learn of its effects. I always enjoyed chemistry because it gave me a break from Hate class either side.  As seriously ill people will preferentially visit drug dealers this makes good statistical sense.    + Dees

So, this is an argument for Full Socialism then? State ownership of everything and everyone lives on handouts? That's pretty much the antithesis of taxes and it would make the state income separate from citizens' income. Triple negative makes my brain hurt.

Nothing wrong with getting kids to grow carrots or other easy foods. Not everything needs to be job training. Honestly it gives kids a chance to actually do something that produces something real. They can grow a baby tomato that is just as good as the one you can buy in the store, and it was their work that made it happen.

I remember growing beansprouts in biology, and doing it as part of an experiment where we showed how light and different minerals/pH levels affected plant growth. A food was grown, a simple and cheap experiment was performed, we learned something about the scientific method. If crazy forward guy's argument was that schools are often underfunded and teach too much to the test rather than giving kids hands on practical time or exploration, even if the lab is a few plant pots on the windowsill, I'd be in full agreement. Instead it's about how the drat governments are teaching my kids to hate instead of restricting themselves to the tools they need to be a yeoman farmer.

Home grown tomatoes are arguably nicer in some ways because you can vine ripen them while store bought ones tend to be picked rather green. I just want to shake her and say "you have a drat M.A. and are clearly brilliant, and you had a grand old time running around playing Masquerade and getting gangbanged by goth guys until you got married at 25, so can you drop the pretenses?" I dunno, maybe *I'm* the dumb one and I'd derive much greater joy out of life if I just willfully ignored all logic and reasonable values embraced the contrarian bliss of snarking at people for telling me I'm an idiot when I honestly know they're correct.
