Yeah I was in a hurry to get an oil change and rotation done before I left for a road trip so I stopped in a Jiffy Lube thinking they couldn't gently caress it up that badly. The next time I went to rotate I found I had to replace studs on three of my four wheels. :suicide:
I try to avoid getting my oil changed at Valvoline. They've never hosed anything up on my car, but I've heard horror stories. I'm more than willing to just take it to my trusted mechanic even if that means they don't turn it around very fast.

I used to get it changed at the dealership because they had a pretty good deal. Then they either put cheap washer fluid or perhaps even water in the tank, and froze it solid. They offered to thaw it out for me then presented me a bill for $100. It's really loving bizarre that their service department is so bad because the dealership side of the operation is about as painless and bullshit free as car shopping gets.

Years ago my dad got the oil changed in my car at a midas down the street from our place for like $20. He hopped in the car but couldn't figure out why the oil level light wouldn't go off when he started it up. He turned it off and checked the dipstick and it was bone dry. They drained the oil, changed the filter, and then parked the car. They gave us coupons for 3 or 4 free oil changes but we never went back.

My friend has a kia soul. She took it in and they said her brakes were worn down metal on metal and she would need new rotors instead of just pads. They wanted her to pay $400. I looked at all of her pads (can see them through the wheel) and not only do all four of them have plenty of meat still, none of them are even low enough that the squeal wire is even touching the rotors.

I have 23 and after this there's no way I go back to an intuit service. Xero just loaded all my poo poo from my quickbooks back up file and then had a tech walk me through a bunch of stuff, its actually cheaper the QB was per-year and their support is amazing, like no hold time and your question is answered in less than 5 minutes, not to mention they've integrated with our payroll and time clock service really well. I honestly am shocked with just how responsive their software and team have been so far

I don't pay much for QBO but I'll look into xero. Right now I do all my payroll and such through them and it's pretty easy. I haven't ever really had any issues but my scope is very limited.

There are both HBO Go and HBO Now things for appleTV as well. I ditched cable a while back. HBO Now is identical to Go except costs like $5 more a month, but there's no cable account required.

HBO Go is not the same thing as HBO Now. Go is for people with cable and an HBO subscription. Now is for people who want HBO without paying for all that. Eventually they'll be merged into one thing, but for now they're separate. So yeah, there's a Go app but that doesn't work for a Now subscription.

And I'm not buying another Roku or Apple TV just for HBO, which I'll end up cancelling in a month after I burn through GoT.

It doesn't matter what they do after OJ. Nothing will compare.

All of this OJ poo poo we saw happen live 20 years ago. Everyone left class and went to the school library to watch the verdict come down.

The Naked Gun movies were some of the funniest things I had ever seen before OJ killed two people and probably shaped some of my expectations of comedy going forward.

There's a few ways, 1 is you get in on their advertisers by registering as a company and paying them to recommend you . The other is you get someone on there who checks a few times a day, makes updates about special pricing, services, etc and interacts with people, sends friend requests, etc.

For brick and mortar, this doesn't honestly work at all, there's a lot of research that shows social media marketing is only viable for things like food trucks, niche small businesses (think poo poo like boudoir photographers, etsy/pinterest poo poo, home soap makers, etc) and "at home" services like traveling masseuses, pet groomers and personal trainers

Makes sense. I use FB and other social media platforms in huge million dollar+ real-time auction ad space buys. We opt for straight up audience view count, frequency, and reach.

I have a Facebook page specifically for the truck. Every day we're open I post the location, times, and any specials. I share the information on my personal page a few other pages and people around town have liked us and get the link.

I get catering gigs and such via Facebook often enough to make it worthwhile, but for daily advertising it doesn't necessarily blow me away.

I have not ever paid Facebook for ads because that's a one way ticket to a clickfarm and actually makes it more difficult to reach your target audience.

If you pay to boost a post, it will be put on a substantial number of your followers feed. You can also boost your page for more likes. The problem is, this usually ends up with your page on some click farms list, so then you end up with hundreds or thousands of extra followers, but none of them actually will ever interact with anything on your page making it that much harder to reach your customers.
