Because it was never about "oh no she has an rear end," which is what the robocops all got into a frenzy about, because they're stupid as hell. It was about the pose not fitting the character. Lo and behold the new pose does.

For the record, this is what the character actually says. It's behind at least two other conversation prompts where you ask her about the origin of her name. That's all. For this there are multiple videos of dudes killing the character and people cheering them on for sticking it to the SJWs and bad review spamming.

I don't really know anything about this controversy or character, but, technically, he never disagreed that it was a pin-up pose.

It was about the pose not fitting the character. Lo and behold the new pose does. When I read the post about it, the complaint was that the rear end-shot reduced a "spunky, fun character" to a sex object, and being sexualized didn't make sense for Tracer. So it's solved by putting her into a slightly different pose that still shows off her rear end? Anyway the controversy over the pose always sounded silly and I'll just end by saying that I also think the line for Minsc does not fit the character at all, hence my bitching about Beamdog's quality as writers.

Tbh I don't understand why video game designers feel the need to sexualize their characters at all these days when people on the internet will have done it for them within like a week for free. Overwatch isn't even a full fledged game yet and you can already probably find copious amounts of porn involving the characters.

A mixture between toxic elements in gaming culture, the male gaze, old myths in marketing, and the fact most video game programmers work 60-80 hour weeks in tiny, dark cubicles.

Being sexualized is normal for women in patriarchy, so it seems entirely normal to do it to fictional characters.

Again, expect absolutely nothing from the sister site of CircvsMaximvs, which is little more then an MRA den at this point. ENWorld actively keeps it's shitheads around. Which is basically just this entire problem in a microcosm. Things won't get better until we actively kick the shitheads out, but even major sites like ENWorld refuses to do so.

I mean, at least they'd be over there rather than making everything awful here, but all that can really be done is marginalize the toxic elements and tell people "here be dragons."

Right, but if you marginalise them enough, the toxic attitude stands a better chance of dying out, since it has fewer people to infect.

Yeah, except a large enough number of people from RPGsite have accounts at ENWorld. RPGsite's problem is that, quite frankly, no, they haven't been kicked out. One look at the D&D 5e books could tell you that immediately.
