Is there a way to figure out what mods were used for my saved games? My SSD just died and along with it my fallout 4 installation and mods. I like to continue my saved game now that the DLC is out, but I have no clue what mods were used for the saves since I stopped playing months ago after I got annoyed with the game plot after the introduction of the institute... :( Please tell me there's a way that I can salvage my saves.

I think FO Mod Organizer can read save files and determine which mods were used; not sure if it's needed to use it in the first place for that to work. You don't have a Nexus account to keep track of what you downloaded?

Oh thanks, I will give it a try. I actually use the nexus mod manager, it has the mods i downloaded but not which ones i activated. Also since the path to Fallout 4 game directory changed, some mods seem to be jacked. 😣

Nope, it cant load EMSs you could convert it to an esp but then you also need to change all the references, so no its not really worth it, just wait till its out of beta and we can use mods freely again.

I tried the Survival Beta with the mod that bring menu saves back, and it trivializes everything, loses all sense of tension that not having saves gives you.

I wonder if it would be possible to modify it to where it will only let you save and quit from the menu.

What file/s do I need to delete to reset whatever a sorting mod did that I can't seem to uninstall? I've removed all mods, but still getting [melee] [.38] etc tags in front of all my stuff.

I think that sorting mod actually literally renames items as they spawn - which is part of why it acts funny with some renamed items (i.e. "Apocalypse Left Greave" in my name) - and so removing the mod won't un-rename the items.

Ohhhk thanks I've been sitting here deleting and re-validating the strings file and looking through the NMM folders and uninstalling all my mods while scratching my head like an idiot wondering what the hell I was doing wrong.

Anyone know if there is a mod yet that lets me attach a flashlight to all my weapons? I hate the pip-boy light.

Here's one that replaces the pip-boy light with a customizable flashlight. Fixes some minor light-related bugs as well.

The op is a good read, but this is the only one I consider necessary by all means.

Nothing in the op is ever necessary, thats not the point, its just stuff that is "good" and that I have tested. Its also only about half of what I actually use because I am still waiting for the scene to stabilize a bit.

new Survival Beta update:

quote:

New Survival Features
Thirst, hunger, sleep and disease icons will change color based on status

Survival Fixes
Less food and drink are required to maintain proper sustenance
Carry capacity lowered
Sleep cycle has been lowered from 24 hours to 14 hour days
Reduced chances to getting a disease
Fusion cores weigh more
Nuka Cola Quantums no longer cancel out caffeine effect from Nuka Cola and Nuka Cola Cherry
Fixed occasional issue with becoming parched or peckish when thirst or hunger are actually satisfied
Fixed issue where Adrenaline effect would incorrectly persist after changing difficulty level
When companion is down, a quest target will appear on them

They reduced carry weight, seems to be about 15 lbs less now. Also looks like they are sticking to their guns with not be able to save.

Hence why I said that the op was good but the only mod that is available right now that's needed, in my opinion, is the one that displays what your character is gonna say. Sort of like the ui mods for skyrim.

What does this mean? I gotta sleep every 7 hours instead of every 12? Or what.

The rest of it looks OK although gently caress man the lowered carry weight was already rear end in a top hat enough.

There seems to be a bug from latest update that disables the supply line interface. This really hurts in survival because moving down the map via settlements seems necessary with the carry weight and fast travel restrictions.

I'm tempted by the save game mod but am going to resist. It really makes you plan out your approach for each journal entry when you have to make the treck back if you die.
