He's literally based in appearance on Simon Pegs. Ennis explicitly said as much.

I do not expect much from this series but hey, maybe we'll at least get video versions of Frenchie's 'backstory'.

And I believe when they were talking about doing a Boys movie he was willing to do the part.

Comic book stuff aside, according to that article they're doing a pilot for Roadside Picnic too. It's for SyFy though, so who knows how that's gonna turn out. I haven't watched anything on SyFy in a long time, have they done anything good lately?

E: For anyone who doesn't know, Roadside Picnic is the book that inspired both Tarkovsky's "Stalker" and the video games of the same name.

Dark Matter, Killjoys and the Magicians are all pretty enjoyable. I have yet to watch Wynonna Earp but I am friends with the creator and have high hopes.

Oh cool, I've been meaning to watch Dark Matter, didn't realize it was a SyFy show. Alright, so I'll be cautiously optimistic on this one.

I gotta give the Backstreet and NSYNC guys credit, at least they have a good sense of humor about being part of such a ridiculous musical legacy. The machine behind that kind of career tends to thoroughly consume bright and promising young pop stars, leaving behind a trail of bitter, humorless old men and women who 'used to be someone'.

Runaways next?

I hope this show is as unabashedly comic-booky as Flash and Supergirl. But they'll probably just be wearing street clothes that vaguely evoke their costumes.

Well the guy's name is Cloak, so I don't know how much you can actually deviate from him wearing, you know, a cloak.

Aphrodite

In every depiction the cloak pretty much is his power too. I don't know if he necessarily has to use it to activate his portals or whatever they are, but he always does.

C&D sounds like a teen soap opera, so I am not too excited for it. It, in theory, could be a great show, but I have little faith in the Marvel TV department (outside of Netflix) to deliver anything meaningful. Especially when the best show they did is still up in the air for renewal and they couldn't get many people to watch it. (Agent Carter :smithicide: )

I loved it too, but I mean people who liked it for the tight structure or the Gillian surreality. For example, the future in the movie is this weird, alien body horror nightmare but in the show it's just a standard post-apoc "wasteland".

Oh. Hmm. The vague future shown as this bizarre prison was pretty neat. How often is the future used?

I was really hesitant to start it out of fear for The Walking Dead, but it's completely different and embraces the inherent silliness of the zombie apocalypse so well.
