it's not just some strange aesthetic coincidence that like 75% of art photography revolves around naked hot girls doing weird poo poo

Everyone in the industry is pretty hosed up, honestly. You guys should try listening to cartoon voice actors talking off the record sometimes.
Rob Paulsen of Yakko/Pinky fame has a podcast where he interviews other actors at home and boy, those are unsurprisingly some of the filthiest-mouthed people in the business.

I keep thinking about Bill Farmer talking about how Mickey and Minnie Mouse's last set of voice actors were actually married and deeply in love in real life and how he "would give anything to hear the kind of talk that goes on in that bedroom."

I hate that I'm constantly getting all the people named Paulson/Dobson in cartoons and comics mixed up.

It too has a female protagonist that spends most of the comic running around in skimpy outfits inspired by old B-movies. The authors don't make any pretense that it's about anything other than being sexy, and it still feels like she's more legitimately empowered than Diaz's doll.

Also it's a very cute and cheerful comic in general. Worth a look if you like that saturday morning cartoon feel.

I actually just stumbled across this a little bit ago. I didn't like the skimpy outfits for the MC at first, but the character and comic is pretty cute and cool so I got over it fast.

For anyone interested, the comic is about a space pirate who has a robot partner and it starts with her stealing a space carrier almost entirely by herself. It mostly follows the pirate and the captain of the stolen ship with some side stuff thrown in just because. The current arc is in the middle of what should be a highly televised race between outlaws. Instead it's become a fight between a couple outlaws and a bunch of bounty hunters (some people tend to get upset when you steal a carrier and strip it for parts to sell).

Paulsen is straight-up awesome. I got his autograph and he happily agreed to read my "are you pondering what I'm pondering?" line as Pinky.

Yeah the costuming is regrettable but there's infinitely more heart and charm in a single Cassiopeia Quinn strip than in the entirety of the Dresden Codak run, so I can deal with the cheesecake.

One or both of the authors also did Question Duck: http://questionduck.smackjeeves.com

Non-joke answer, almost all of the rest of the human female cast.

Edit:
Cassiopeia doesn't like pants, she's weird. There's plenty of people in the comic that dress normally.

I deal with someone with BPD at work. Let me tell you, the emotional highs are the scariest phase of all. It seems like the highest peaks are followed rather precipitously by the hardest emotional crashes, so when that person is in a really cheery mood I can't help but wonder how soon the poo poo is going to hit the fan.

Agreed. My adopted mom had NPD, and she was just a few steps in intensity shy from Chris Chan. Being little and responsible for maintaining the fragile ego of a grown woman fucks you up for life.

I don't actually think that's the case, I'm pretty sure Poppy actually has some psuedo-boobs. Or, probably, really well-developed pectoral muscles. When she's being measured for the maid outfit, she's shirtless, and there's definitely something there.

Like the current page, where Petunia is apparently a kung-fu master or something.

I am unsure of how to feel about this development. For now I shall settle for: rrreeeeaaaaaally?

Edit: vvvv My bad then. I dunno though, being a Grandmaster Whatever rather than just happening to know some basic martial arts like a regular person still strikes me as a little overkill for Petunia.

I haven't gotten there because I just started reading, but Petunia being a martial arts master who turned pacifist was mentioned a few times in the first couple of chapters.

It was really delightful to see a Mischief Makers reference. That game doesn't often get the pop culture love it deserves, I tell ya.

A.o.D.
Jan 15, 2006
Petunia being a martial arts master is one of those "secrets" that's known to almost everyone except the protagonist and the reader. It's been hinted at since the very first story, and has constantly been alluded to since then. I guess now is when we're getting that payoff.
