Okay I'm pretty sure I've done enough testing to confirm that buying Hypercrates is a terrible idea. I bought tow of the new Hypercrates and got jack poo poo.

Bought a Supercrate and got the Droid companion and the Acklay. This is like the last two packs where anything good I got was in the Supercrate and not the Hypercrate.

I guess what I'm saying is I have too many credits.

Finally got around to playing through chapter XII, and that was awfully good and satisfying and enjoyable up until the ending cliffhanger :ohdear:. The last two chapters were okay, but this one was top-notch stuff. :allears:

Until they fix the crates it's pointless buying them. I always get 40 of the same thing and the rest are all chance cubes. Between that and how short and content light the episodes are I think I might unsub for a while and let a few episodes accumulate. Maybe they're better played in rapid succession.

I've sort of turned around on the chance cubes. Buying Hypercrates from the GTN for 11 million or so I've usually made almost all my cash back selling the chance cubes straight up. Ends up being profitable to buy a Hypercrate and sell to gamblers.

Bitches love my tool time
I am getting the urge to get my Star Wars on. I bought the CE for this game thinking it was going to be KOTOR 3 when it first came out but quit a bit after I got to max level on a Trooper. I guess I've been accumulating cartel coins for having an authenticator on my account and have 4300. Is there anything I should be grabbing on the store to make my F2P life even easier? Should I just wait until 60 to sub if I'll be playing pretty casually? I don't care too much about having to do side quests on the planets.

I decided to play a Sith Assassin in game as Pheart.

edit:Thanks for the link, and with that I decided to change my race/class due to the unlocks you gave me! VVVV

Rocket Boost is the biggest "must have" to spend your cartel coins on. I wouldn't worry about subbing if you're just working on the class stories right now, but once you get to 50 and can't go any further you'll want to consider subbing for at least a month. Remember to click a referral link to get some stuff to make life easier as a preferred player.

There is actually a process on their website for removing an authenticator. I don't remember what exactly it was, but I needed to do that since mine was from a phone that I've long since gotten rid of when I restarted a few months ago. There were some glitches in the process of course, and I seem to remember having to call CS, but it didn't take long.

GINYU FORCE RULES

I just finished KOTFE chapter 10, did they bring in a Call of Duty level designer to put that many loving skytroopers in one level? Especially the ones that aggro from another room? Geez. Chapter 10 should just be renamed to "skytrooper genocide." Nevermind the mobs that dash at you when you round a corner and stun you; gently caress, it was good the first time, but then it just kept happening. However they do drive one point home - you're in the heart of the enemy's empire, and it's armored to the teeth in troops. Not sure how I feel about Kaliyo. I feel like she's going to be a character with a lot of plot-shielded actions wherein you can't really influence what she does.

Also got through Ch. 11. I think that Jorgan is way better written in KOTFE than the vanilla storyline. Thrusting him into a leadership position improved him a lot, though it's obvious why that didn't work in the trooper storyline since the player character has to be the leader. I think chapters 9 and 10 were just sorta sore spots since 9 was mostly you building your garrison, and 10 was... well, 10 was something alright. It was 100 something skytroopers dead.

Can't wait to start on chapter 12 tomorrow. I'm a little overwhelmed by just how much there is in terms of dailies/weeklies to do, but I'll worry about that later.

I removed my authenticator yesterday. It's fairly easy to do, just need your login details and access to your email. No need to call CS.

I'm pretty sure it's just your terrible luck again. Bought a hypercrate off the GTN and got the droid, the oberle siren mount and 3 (!) marsh acklays. Kept one, sold two which paid for the crate.

Last crate was pure junk for me though, so it's not always this good.

Yeah I can appreciate the fact that aside from the trash when you fight in this chapter it's an important, story-relevant fight instead of "we needed a boss here so let's put a big droid to fight"

I wish they'd do more "original" fights with different mechanics to them like Kaliyo's apartment. I don't mind fighting, it is a video game, but wave after wave of "Well with this enemy group I need to focus on hitting Lacerate as quickly as possible, and the next group I will consider hitting Lacertate. What to do now??? Oh, I'll just spam Lacerate." gets old. Quick.

So far most of KOTFE fights have been send companion to tank group, spam force storm for me. Then again, outside of some FPs and Ops, it's not like PVE combat in general is really hard or mechanic intensive in this game, so it's not a big change.

That's one of the big reasons I quit playing a while back. It got so repetitive with only the story to keep me going, and that wasn't proceding fast enough.

Figure roughly 60-90 minutes per chapter for the story. Some side companion recruitment missions are super short depending on your class/luck, others (mostly in the earlier chapters) can take longer. One is PVP focused for example. Another one is reliant on an event being around to complete. So, if you don't usually PVP, it might take a while. Then there's a bunch of rep to grind if you're into that to add to that number.

Oh I know that, it doesn't change the fact that I had to kill like 150 of them; as I said, it drives the point home how numerous they are especially when you're on Zakuul, which makes sense. It definitely makes the city feel threatening. But cripes, they just kept coming. At least the other chapters aren't "kill shittons of trash" too much. Part of me is spoiled from Makeb where you can skip literally all of the trash. :v:
