I don't even remember what the gently caress books we read for English in high school. Whatever they were it didn't alter my love of reading one way or the other.

I remember senior year in high school they just had everyone take English electives. It was pretty cool because the teachers could just do whatever the hell they wanted to. So I had a Shakespeare class where the teacher just kind of said "let's read a few of these plays and try to actually enjoy them" and it was fun.

All Quiet was also well-executed by our school because everyone saw the movie during a history class where we also saw Life is Beautiful.
