Is anyone else getting absolutely pathetic framerate on the intro and then the game kicks you out cause framerate is too low for online play even after dropping the settings down?

Trip report: Got to Firelink shrine without dying and beat the ice lizard whatchamacalit. Gundyr got me down to a sliver admittedly but just...this game. THIS loving GAME. SO GOOD. Warrior is also OP as hell I mean one shot every basic enemy with 2H what were they thinking.

Crashes constantly at the hub. I get anywhere near the bonfire it crashes. Removed shield and same thing.

So if you're running around going "what to do next aside from die to crazy ninja dude" the answer is "circle around the center of the shrine until you can press A". Thanks, this is my first non-Bloodborne souls game and I was confused as gently caress. Unfortunately I can't go anywhere now because the PS4 pre-order pre-loaded the soundtrack but not the actual game itself and apparently you can't leave the hub until you have all 19gb down. :V

I'm getting a consistent hard lock at the first real area, The High Wall of Lothric, at the point real early on where the dragon is supposed to come alive and roast a bunch of hollow soldiers. Guess I won't be playing this game today!!

Actually, nevermind. Removing the shield let me use the Bonfire but then it crashed 5 seconds later anyway YOU BLEW IT NAMCO BANDAI, I'LL JUST PLAY ENTER THE GUNGEON TODAY INSTEAD

There's some speculation going around that having certain USB devices plugged in causes performance issues. I assume it's anecdotal, but more and more people are saying it, so who knows.

Welp, I have something like a 75% chance that the game crashes whenever I near a bonfire, shield or no shield. This is a total bummer, hope they fix this ASAP.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but google doesn't seem to bring anything up. I'm playing with a Steam controller, which worked just fine for DS2. But in this game, the right touchpad brings up a menu while clicked, instead of just locking on. This means that trying to lock on ends up with me randomly switching to two hand, cycling items or weapons, etc. Is there any way to just change it back to "click right touchpad, lock on"?
