Instant Grat posted:i first saw it when i was at Desert Bus for Hope one year and one of the tech leads had one (with no identifying marks beyond an FCC ID also used on a dozen other keyboards), spent a few weeks sleuthing my way to the brand name, bought one on TaoBao where the seller eventually flaked and refused to actually send it, then had to scour ebay until one eventually showed up that would only ship to the US, so I had a US-based friend buy it for me and then send it onto me username/post holy gently caress

Professor Tomtom posted:Correct sir. Now no one else can use my computer. is it because of the split board being too confusing? also, I have matias ergo pro and aside from getting a sweet chance to brag about it the switches are pretty nice and you can get whatever angle between your upperbody and the board that you like. I personally like being able to spread my hands 2ft from eachother in the home position but I have a sorta lovely shoulder injury that makes that valuable to me. if you can't handle the terrible shame of dome switches or having too much money it may be worth a look

The luggable/lunchbox format needs to come back like loving NOW.we have cheap LCDs, 3d printers for small parts fab, everybody's putting pci-e cards on risers/extenders and using mini itx boards anyways so why not. not to mention battery tech is so much better

at that point it's not really a portable thing anymore, it's more like a bunch of open frame monitors on admittedly neat folding mounts back to keyboars, i've been looking for a solution for mac havers at the office that includes a cac style reader and cherry has a bunch, but a lot of them also have credit card readers and i don't even want to imagine the driver hell i'd jump into trying to implement that under osx
