Yea, spec point cap is wonky as poo poo. I never filled out the Command spec, and I've got 61 spec points (with today's +2) ready to go for tomorrow's Strategery specialization, and then the Temporal spec, when it comes out.

It's a minotaur race...

Someone created a thread on the forums to remind people about the daily giveaways if they don't keep up with the blog, and the responses are pretty amazing.

quote:

You and i differ of opinion on how to interpret the OP. Albeit the motive of the OP may certainly have been to help people, the topic still represents a disturbing trend of numbing the forum population.

Entitlement and laziness are already running rampant and topics such as this one only reinforce that regardless of the intentions. Unlike the example i used those visiting the forum are assumed to be mature, not children or childlike, and thus fully capable of following news items and carrying the burden of their failure to do so if and when that happens.

quote:

Being nice does not equal cuddling people.

This topic encourages laziness and is downright patronizing "because people are too dumb or lazy to read news items so let's create yet another topic for them".

Allow people their own responsibility. If they read the news items then good for them, but if they fail to do so them that is ALSO their responsibility.

quote:

If the actions of the OP are "nice" then good riddance to those nice people.
It seems you have a rather twisted definition of being nice.

If children have assignments for math of calculus and they are having difficulties, do you make the assignments for them or do you give them pointers for them to do the assignments themselves.

Do not feed the laziness.

Star Trek did this thing where the characters used analogies to solve most intergalactic problems. You can tell these fuckers ate it up.

Yeah I'm not looking forward to respecing. I've done it a few times on Tribble and I still can't figure out a good build.

Yeah I've messed around on tribble, but gently caress if I know what's optimal or not. Was hoping that some sperg who cares about that thing would have a build I could steal by now. :effort:

Just remember, you can't just throw points around casually on live since it works like spec points and every point spent is locked in as soon as it's spent. You really want to either hit tribble (if you have a sub) or plan it out by hand (if not) ahead of time or else you're probably gonna gently caress something up. Cryptic games!

Eh, 4/2 is alright since that's pretty much exclusive to raiders and those get that +25/33% flanking bonus. 3/3 has no excuse though, every carrier and sciboat should be at least 4/3. :colbert:

Science I understand; They usually have the turn to use torpedoes(Even if they lack the slots to do much that's fancy with them). I'm presuming that a single torpedo is going in that fourth forward slot.

But what's a heavy carrier, usually with a base turn of 5, gonna do with a torpedo right now?

Nothing, because they'd fill the slot with a beam.

There's probably enough power/drain resistance to run ten beams if you somehow could.

Also the FE is bugged as gently caress for me, some enemy is getting stuck inside a wall or not spawning at all and it literally can't be beaten, repeatable 100% of the time on every map reset. Who wants to bet it's just inexplicably broken for aliengen males or something since that sounds like something Cryptic would gently caress up? Take along a boff or two with Quantum Mortar - it can target NPCs stuck in walls/geometry.
