Ooh, my turn...

Bought a late 1800's pie safe that was built a few towns over:

I've since replaced the knobs with old porcelain ones and plan on sanding/refinishing it. Previous owners had sanded off the even previous owners lovely paint job. Next up is to find tin panels to replace the non original glass as well.

Not as recent a purchase, but similar vein, a 1932 Philco tube radio I fixed up:

And I flew down to North Carolina and bought this biek off another goon a few weeks back. Barring the unplanned snow storm, the ride back home was excellent:

New glove (my old pocket is starting to fall apart, and it's fun breaking them in)

New cleats (shiny white ones that will be green and brown by the end of summer)

and some high-rear end socks to intimidate my enemies with

All of it at clearance/cheapo outlets, cause lol it's softball I'm not a pro

I did the same exact thing today. I've used the same glove for 10 years and it's finally gotten to the point where it's negatively affecting my ability to catch the ball. So long old friend.

Some car stuff…

Since some guy thought it would be a good idea to merge into my lane without looking, had the side doors & back panel fixed.

Later that month completely blew out a tire. Luckily I have a full spare in the trunk. Still had to pick up another Toyo all-weather tire to keep things consistent.

Luckily I got a friend whose family runs an auto body shop, so they helped me get my ride back up & running.

She's looking a lot better now. I'll be getting the windows tinted when I get back from CA.

Dumbass drivers like that are why I learned psychic powers as a motorcyclist. If you pay enough attention, nine times out of ten you can predict what other drivers are going to do before they even know they're going to do it. Everything from relative speed to the damage on a car to the type of car are great clues.

For instance, the nicer the car, the more likely that working turn signals are an optional package from the dealer.

A sequel to my earlier post, I turned in my new Fitbit Alta and replaced it with a Fitbit Charge HR.

^ That one

The only thing that annoyed me about the Alta was that it didn't have an altimeter which tracks the amount of stairs you've gone up or down. It bugged me, in a spergy way, because my old Fitbit tracked it. That, on its own, wasn't enough to justify buying the more expensive Charge HR. Plus, I thought that the smaller display wasn't a touch/interactive one, since it had a button on it and I figured I had to use the button every time.

But thanks to price-matching and someone with an HR telling me how it worked, I had no qualms. Returned the Alta, replaced it with an Charge HR, and only had to spend about five bucks to upgrade. Will I need the heart-rate monitor often? No, but gently caress it.

I'm not an audiophile by any means but I played a few different songs on these after they arrived today, and I think they sound great. Played talk podcasts, some White Stripes. Tom Waits, Muse from the Pandora app. Again, first pair of over the ear headphones so I have no baseline, but I love them so far. Also they're built really solidly, the leather and aluminum feel top notch.
