How heavy are those? We're talking of starting a new team and need jerseys. And I've always wanted one with the tie off for some reason. If you don't have names how is the other team going to know who you are when you do an awesome celly?

AK jerseys are petty beefy.. you won't feel a breeze cutting through them while skating around. They are high quality though.

They definitely aren't as thick as some AKs that I have. Plus, the black ones have mesh under the arms for built-in air conditioning as I glide down the ice at 1.5mph. The sizing, however, is all over the board with AKs and it drives me nuts. My Bronze A team had AKs, and I wore an L. My Silver B team also got AKs, but my large feels like a sausage casing on me, so I had to buy a second set of XLs. I got XLs for the above jerseys, and they wear a touch too large. gently caress you AK

The home/away I have of these are thick as hell compared to every other jersey I have and yeah, can doubly confirm the size weirdness. My white one is slightly smaller than my black, and both are slightly smaller than every other jersey by different manufactures that I have.

Our roller team got AK jerseys. I ordered an XXL like I normally do and the thing is like a long sleeve T and breathes like a wetsuit. I've stopped wearing it much to the chagrin of my team mates, gently caress I just cant do it.

My goaltending debut was a 9-1 loss against 29 shots in the D League. I don't feel too bad because 6 of those goals came on breakaways or 2-1s. Made some retarded saves, both good and bad. Main thing that killed me was dropping into the butterfly too soon. Still had a loving blast and I can't wait for next Thursday.

Kobe jerseys are my favorite so far. Their polyester ones are paper thin and have respectable quality. They do NHL patterns too, but you're gonna pay out the nose for them.

xzzy posted:AK jerseys are petty beefy.. you won't feel a breeze cutting through them while skating around. Depends on the jersey style. Some are beefy with no breeze. Others have a lighter fabric and mesh in the armholes. It isn't even consistent across model lines. All of H550D seem to have the mesh armholes, but for H550C, some have no armholes (and are probably heavier fabric), while others have arm and side mesh panels. H550A and B do not have any armholes. I'm hosed and stuck with the wetsuit style jersey from AK for our black jersey. AK is the only place that makes that pattern, as far as I've been able to find. Well, unless I want to buy a replica jersey from NHL.com, take off all the logos, or whatever. Doctor Butts fucked around with this message at 18:28 on Apr 15, 2016 |

I had a moment of insanity and asked the local stick n' puck coach if there was any spare goalie gear I could use, as we never have goalies around and it'd be nice to fill in once in a while. Her face lit up like i'd told her i've discovered how to make gold using plastic and yarn.

We need new socks for sure and our sponsor keeps saying he'll get them but keeps dropping the ball. We'll probably just order them and give him the bill afterwards.

Well, it's now official: 13 games, 1-12-0. 15 Goals For, 86 Goals Against. Yup... To be fair, half the team couldn't show up to about half of the games, so there were some 10 or 11 to 0 blowouts I guess, but still this is the worst team I've been on. Except that it doesn't even seem that mismatched when we're playing. Just every game is a disheartening "We were in it... aaaand then we gave up 3 or 4 goals".

Retired Knoxville Ice Bears play all the time down here because there aren't enough leagues in Knoxville to have any real skill division (only 3 leagues right now). I played against this guy last night, just a D1 scratch: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=93734 -- impossible to take the puck off him if he really didn't want to give it up. In goal I played against this guy a few seasons in a row in the Summer a-league http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=33805 -- I'm still convinced he could have played AHL, by far and away the best player I've ever played against (apparently he has some heart condition, which may explain why he slummed it a bit in the SPHL). NCAA D3 is really good. People scoff at it but there's no D2 and so few D1 schools in general that D3 gets a ton of good players. Even ACHA D1 is really loving good.

He's now a UFC fighter lol http://www.ufc.com/fighter/Scott-Holtzman?id= He used to no joke play entire periods when we were short -- I've never seen endurance like that. e: I went to Fitchburg State for a year and tried out for their D3 team. I thought I was hot poo poo starting for a decent Western Mass team and winning States one year but then there were goalies with like four inches on me and quicker crease movement. That was sobering. Tremendous Taste posted:If you'd believe it the Jon Marshall I played with was apparently actually a different D1 guy from WNY, sorry for slandering your name other guy! This Jon Marshall was pretty nice. Actually almost all of the Ice Bears are cool about it and don't try too hard. It's kind of fun to play against them (although I'm completely out of my element playing out, let alone in goal). Like some guy who had like 200 PIM came and played last week and he was the nicest loving dude. I can't imagine how he got in so many fights. He was small too, like 5'10. The two ACHA programs here are loaded with ex major junior guys who decided to get educations instead of grinding it out in the minors. They are starting to matriculate to our beer league with alarming frequency and it makes me feel old, and slow, and bad.

New guy we picked up was futzing around the echl. I know he can pound the puck. I'm in front of the net but dont trust his accuracy so when he winds up I get a bit out of the way. Puck was perfect for a deflection. Because of course it was. I had to apologize to the dude because the average scrub we pick up would have put it at least belt high. Hard. But at least belt high. And ain't nobody got time for that.

So we had a game scheduled at 10 PM last night. I got to the rink, lot was full. Got in, sides of rink just lined with people from another team dressed up. Every locker room was packed. Turns out two games before us, one of the players shattered the glass on a clearing attempt, and then their game went to overtime/shootout. I don't remember what time we finally got on the ice, but our game went into overtime/shootout as well. Didn't get out of the rink until almost 1. I'm tired as poo poo. Also I think an ex-pro who had some time in the NHL offered to play with us until he realized that we were lowest level and in a playoff that night too. The highlight of my career was playing with Colin Greening from the ottow senators, some kid from Swedish juniors, and Don Granato (former coach of the Chicago wolves) in a friends-only closed group pickup session. I was back checking against greening and he went to make a toe drag around me but I poked the puck through his legs to spring one of my team mates for a breakaway. Sure it was inline hockey, and on the beach rink in Chicago but hey defense is defense am I right? But for real... an nhl player loving around at 10% is head and shoulders above the skill of the average person not to mention their size, speed and endurance is impossible to keep up with.
