Let's try another one for Estonia - Serbia tomorrow then. I reckon Serbia to win at nearly even odds is a good shout. They've generally much better players, and Estonia are missing their main central defender and striker, though I imagine Estonia are much better motivated and prepared so I don't expect a huge win or anything like that. Other bets to consider: Serbia win to nil, Estonia not to score, and under 2.5 goals. If I had to predict a specific score I'd go 2-0 to Serbia, maybe 1-0.

Serbia are dodgy as gently caress and I would NOT bet on them or their national league at all

I guess that's why the odds are so high. But they still have players from Chelsea, City, Inter and the like.

I remember ages ago I posted in this thread, or one before it, with a huge bet where I basically just clicked on about 8 teams at random and put a Goliath on, so basically covering all the singles, doubles, trebles etc up to the accumulator. If any of you remember it it was a spectacular failure, so I'm having another go, this time with research! Some interesting games in the Asian World Cup qualifiers today.. This is the last round of games and the teams I'm betting on will qualify today if they win; their opponents are just playing for pride (except UAE vs Saudi Arabia where the winner takes all). All times UTC & all bets Paddypower. Bet One assumes the stronger teams will score more goals against their opponents and gives them a difficult handicap, based largely on their odds but partly on current form, home advantage and expected result. Australia & Japan have -2 handicaps so must win by at least 3 goals; Uzbekistan and Iran have -1 so must win by 2. The UAE vs Saudi Arabia game is the closest of the bunch so is win only. I have chosen Lucky 31 to largely increase my chances of breaking even and going on to win. I've put in the (approx) winnings for scenarios in which I have three, four or five winning selections per bet (having only two doesn't bear thinking about). quote:Bet One 180/1 Bets Three & Four follow more or less the same rules as One & Two except that instead of backing Saudi Arabia we're backing the UAE. This is generally frowned upon and would be A Bad Idea if we were just putting on accumulators, except for he betting method: we're covering our bets with Lucky 31s so it's actually possible for Bets One & Two to win on every individual bet, plus the combined 30 individual bets between Bet Three & Bet Four if Saudi Arabia win and the UAE don't. The closeness of the odds and the fact that this is a Winner Takes All game suggest it could go either way, but neither side is going to be playing for a draw here. quote:Bet Three 25/1 Total liabilities over all four bets: £46.50. Provided all of Bets One & Two win then thats £270.98 from them, plus £44.38 from Bet Three and £21.91 from Bet Four which equals £337.27. With four winning selections from each I will be due approx £130-£150. With three winning selections from each approx £38-45 depending on which ones they are. Watch and learn kids! they're all going to be draws edit: Have just noticed the Japan HT/FT bet screws it up a bit as they may be drawing at half time but go on to win by only 1 goal, meaning neither 1/2 or 3/4 will win the full amount. Oh well, it's on now! edit2: William Hill has Japan -1 at 4/9 and UAE +1 at 2/9. duckmaster fucked around with this message at 02:19 on Mar 29, 2016 |

Australia finished 5-1 Japan finished 5-0 with a quickfire treble in the 86th, 90th and 93rd minute. Leading at half time thanks to a Syrian OG in the first half. All bets winning so far! edit: Messed up the odds a bit on my OP I think. Here's the accumulator I put on William Hill: duckmaster fucked around with this message at 13:30 on Mar 29, 2016 |

Still don't understand what laying a bet is tho. Laying a bet is you being the bookie. So if Team A are 2-1 to win against Team B If you bet £10 on team A and they won you would win £20 plus your stake If you lay £10 on team A and they lost you would win £5 plus your stake.

Huh, is that what laying bets is? I thought it was when you had a 3-4 team accumulator and you've won 3 games, and say Liverpool has to win their game for your accumulator to come in. You then place a bet for Liverpool to draw/lose so you win money no matter what. If Liverpool win => accumulator pays out, if they lose => your single bet pays out.
