Follow up info on DUST 514 (Project Nova)

- CCP are "scaling back" on the MMO ambitions they had and want to make more competitive shooter the focus.
- The demo at Fanfest is 6v6, with a capture and hold the point objective mode. Takes about 10 minutes per match.
- The demo has you fighting inside a Chimera rather than on a planet, which CCP said is going to be more of a thing rather than ground battles.
- Players choose classes, with specialization being a thing rather than racial starting specs.
- There's no player race choice, which lets you "play & learn (the game), and then expand into your faction of choice." Presumably he means that the factions get bonuses to specific classes.

Well, the only LowSec-CSM worth a dime burned out on the CSM thanks to all that drama last year.

I expect he landed, locked, sieged, had to relock, and then start shooting. Had he known sieging broke locks he'd have immediately sieged and had more time to focus down the rag before help arrived.

edit: he might also have brought more help, as he probably had a specific amount of time he wanted the rag to be dead in and he would have realized that with the extra locking time (locking in siege takes longer) he wouldn't hit his mark.

It's not a bad plan, because a titan is worth significantly more than the insured dreads. It's just a very high-risk play because you know those dreads aren't making it out alive win or lose, and you know that help will very quickly arrive. It's all about timing, getting enough DPS out to kill the titan before they can form up and cyno in the reinforcement fleet.

Had it worked out, it would have been great. It didn't, which is a pity, but it wasn't a stupid play.

It was a bad plan because he didn't have anywhere near enough dps to do it before backup and reps got there. When the Gallente militia ganked that PL titan in Amamake a few years back, they needed something like twice the number of dreads plus supporting battleships to get the job done before the rescue squad arrived.

CCP wants to begin buy-back of obsolete POS-structures around Fanfest 2017, arround then most, if not all features of the old POS will have been replaced by the new arrays.

Edit:

-Rorqual gets capital mining drones
-Procurer and Skiff get updated graphics
-the Serpentis hacked the stream to announce new faction capitals

I mean, by definition he didn't bring enough dps because the titan lived. I'm just saying, feeding dreads to DDs is fine if you kill the titan.

He was fielding something like 200.000 DPS against a driveby fit Titan. It's not that far fetched.
