Pakled posted:Census blocks aren't really made to be mapped, they're made for the convenience of counting. So in highly populated areas, they're bounded by streets, and in less populated areas, they're bounded by geographical features and, in the absence of those, straight lines. I was talking about that stupid project to recreate ever historical era in Europa Universalis province.

But why are blonde racists in South Africa horrendous and blonde racists in Australia beautiful? And why is Utah beautiful when it's one of the few states of majority English descent, when England is only nice?

I agree, the 4th Crusade is responsible for everything that is wrong with the Middle East today, and modern-day Venetians and Frenchmen should be punished for it.

"Arrival" is one term, but "reintroduction" would be at least an equally valid term, since horses had been in North America but went extinct around 10000 years ago.

I love the oddly specific details in this map. Siberian girls are mostly ok, but North Kraysnoyarsk girls, ugh Kazakhs are pretty, but they aren't so good looking in Karagandy (this is just a map of some economic data with the key changed isn't it)

One of my favorite random historical facts is that there was a brief period of time on the Great Plains where the mounted warriors of the plains tribes wore head-to-toe leather armor that was made as thick as possible to repel arrows; like some leather-clad version of medieval knights. Of course, that ended quickly once the first muskets were obtained from tribes to the east.
