Do you actually have a copy of the book now or is it still being worked on with more stuff promised every month or so in true CIG tradition?

Spent the past couple of evenings jumping all over the rear end end of highsec doing the Sisters of Eve epic arc, managed to lose a Cormorant when my computer decided to lock up for some unknown reason while I was trying to kite that Amarr putz who neuts you. Bought another with the insurance, put a lovely blaster and passive shield tank fit on on it, blapped him and the final dude, flew back to the other side of highsec. Picked up Gallente frigate and destroyer books in case Sunday's roam involves Catalysts.

Just started playing after reading about EVE and the war on some site and I have to say it's a long way from my days on Age of Wushu, the economy seems really interesting and I'm looking forward to trading on the market. Any tips?

Any tips? Market trading typically requires an initial investment of ~10bn isk to really see returns. It is definitely doable with less, but will be harder to do. Also pay attention to various products. More heavily traded ones will have market bots constantly undercutting everyone by .01 isk.

Then I suppose the first step to becoming a serious trader is to assemble the capital to actually do the trading. I'm sure it will be tough but I'm the son of a broker and find some weird enjoyment out of watching markets or buying and selling.

Getting that initial seed money isn't that difficult, and there are numerous ways to do it, if you can stomach shooting red crosses, or like DT said, scamming. There is also more than just buy/sell in the trading. If you're feeling adventurous enough, you can even move product around into higher demand markets, via your own freighters or hiring to have it done.

I may give a hand at scamming since I need cash up front, but I'm not sure really how to begin with that- until then I'll probably farm some asteroids until I get enough money or skill to get a freighter, then use the money from that to hire some people to freight, and once I'm a regular Aristotle Onassis I'll see about buying/sell trading.

If you join goonswarm we have some good guides up on the forums about how to pull off a basic recruitment scam (tell some pubbie you'll let him join goonwaffe if he pays the "security deposit" and contracts all his poo poo over to you for transport). It sounds stupid but people will fall for it and it's a good way to make your first few billion.

Planning on it, I jumped the gun and tried to register for Goonswarm before my account had a character made so the registration process is now glitched for me- I sent in an email to fix things and hopefully it works out. I'm excited to gather supplies to fuel the Goon war machine.

There was an out-of-game tool called EveMentat that was good for station trading; it has been replaced by Evernus which has stayed up to date with the changes to the EVE Api but this youtube vid for EveMentat works for Evernus as well. What I liked about it was how it integrated with the in-game-browser which made it easy to check the market in-game then export the data, see what orders needed updating, and then easily update those orders back in the game. http://evernus.com/features https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeTPY-Y9s1g

Usually they're flown either as ships to use links on to boost various stats for the fleet, or used for their ability to put a disgusting amount of damage on the field with a pretty hefty tank, at least in my experience. I've only ever really flown with small fleets.

I don't really like the look of any of the battleships aside from maybe the abbadon, and I can't really see myself getting into Capitol ships so I'm trying to decide if I want a command battlecruiser to by my "end game" in, say, a year or so.

Hello chill thread. Is there a way to import an EFT txt block into Pyfa for strategic cruisers? I know T3s slots depend on what subsystems they have, but when I try to import a fit into Pyfa I get the subs and the cargo, but no high/mid/lows. Here is a chill picture for you all in the meantime

I sentence myself to indefinite confinement to this thread until I truly no longer give a gently caress. Gotta take a break from space nerd slapfights while I figure out what I really want to do. Right now I'm kinda spread out due to wanting to try all the things but that's gonna lead to burnout. As far as command ships go are there any that are particularly more useful than others? I don't know a whole lot about the different warfare links yet. I like the looks of both of the Amarr ones and the Minmatar ones, and I could probably grow to like the caldari ones. I just don't want to train up to get in, say, a Damnation and then be told "We only do shield fleets so go get in a Sleipnir or a Vulture or "

As far as the different kinds of links, Siege links are shield links, Skirmish are navigational stuff, Information are EWAR oriented and Armored is, well, armor.

You might want to wait a bit on picking a race though, CCP is planning on changing how boosting works soon, and that could involve a BC rebalance.
