I'm taking part in my first ITS tournament tomorrow morning. 300 pts, we'll be playing Supplies, Safe Area, Highly Classified, and Frontline (if needed). No SpecOps, and no new rules from HSN3 yet. This is the list I'm considering. Draft 1 ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 JANISSARY HMG / Pistol, CCW. (2 | 40) SHIHAB REMOTE HMG / Electric Pulse. (1 | 25) GHULAM Doctor Plus (MediKit) Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 16) GHULAM Doctor Plus (MediKit) Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 16) NASMAT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) GHULAM (Forward Observer) Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) AZRA'IL AP HMG / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 41) LASIQ Viral Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26) FIDAY Boarding Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW, Knife. (0 | 29) NAJJARUN Engineer Rifle + Light Shotgun, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 17) NASMAT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) DJANBAZAN Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27) GROUP 2 3 GHULAM Lieutenant Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12) GHULAM Hacker (Hacking Device) Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 20) GHULAM Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12) 5.5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army It's probably terrible, so I welcome comments on it. I'm not very good at list building yet. Or playing really. This is a list of everything I currently own: http://pastebin.com/sEHsntUY

That Djan needs to be an HMG, not a rifle, or you're going to get hard locked by any form of TO sniper. Not a fan of the Jannisary HMG if you're already toting an Azrail AP HMG.

Good points. I think the Jannisary HMG was a holdover from my last test I forgot about... Swapping out the Djan for the HMG and the Jann for the normal AP one leaves 4 pts over. Dropping a plain Ghulam frees up enough points to make the Jann an Akbar, another specialist, at 297/ 5SWC.

I rate the Viral Rifle lasiq a bit higher than the Sniper. Dat burst, dat range. Also, in supfire, he's a monster.

I was strongly considering a Lasiq. Odds are I'll be going against Ariadna at least twice due to it's popularity, no BTS armor to speak of in that faction. So here's what I'm thinking now: Haqqislam ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 AZRA'IL AP HMG / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 41) DJANBAZAN HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 35) FIDAY Rifle + Light Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW, Knife. (0 | 32) SHIHAB REMOTE HMG / Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 20) GHULAM Doctor Plus (MediKit) Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 16) LASIQ Viral Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26) GROUP 2 2 2 1 HUNZAKUT (Forward Observer, Deployable Repeater) Rifle + Light Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 18) GHULAM (Forward Observer) Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) NAFFATÛN Lieutenant Rifle + Light Flamethrower, Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12) MUTTAWI'AH Chain Rifle, E/Marat, Jammer / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 5) 5 SWC | 298 Points Open in Infinity Army Also, this is an Official ITS Event. My Lasiq is a sniper, have any of you come across people actually getting super picky about what weapon a given model is holding? Official rules say it has to "represent faithfully" the weapon it's supposed to have. (Unless y'know they went 'gently caress it' and never release other sculpts for a unit ever.) Everyone local is pretty chill, and everything I'm running is the correct unit type, but I was wondering.

Today I learnt to fear the Fiday. He killed 1/3 of my orders in his first turn and I spent the rest trying to repair/doctor the damage only to roll over my WIP and finishing the job. I even spent all my command tokens in the process.

Impersonation is the literal worst skill in Infinity, from a game design standpoint. If I have the first turn, and I have an impersonator, I have a reasonable chance to kill your LT as my first order. Biovisors won't help, because a reserved Impersonator can easily avoid them. The Speculo is by far the worst of the bunch, doubly so with the new MA change. : Nice TAG you have there. Shame if someone were to monofilament it with no counter. e: I suppose the counter is the Speculo fails it's WIP check. Clawtopsy fucked around with this message at 14:54 on Apr 24, 2016 |

I play CA myself, but I don't use the speculo that often. One of the haqq players boasted he was going to try a three imp list The only tool against it is "lose one guy who is hopefully not your Lt and hope you kill the imp with the nearby guys", right?

Pre-empt kicking him in the bollocks is the other way to do it, tends to work first. But yeah, Impersonation is one of those skills where you really learn to deploy models and ARO placements become MASSIVELY important. I hate watching players learn it in some ways because you only learn about it once you get absolutely annihilated by it.

The Boarding Shotgun Fiday is like 29 points, and can reliably trade up. Even if it's just to gank a TR drone, it's usually pretty straightforward. At least it doesn't have an Automedkit.

What about something like the Oniwaban? Seems just as nasty, even harder to hit with shooting, and you don't even have a token to give away that he's there, right? I guess there's slightly more MSV2 running around though, and it is more points...

And can't enter the opponent's DZ during deployment, and only takes one discover roll to discover. e: And units with Sensor get a WIP bonus to discover, and MSV2-3 negates the penalty/discovers automatically Clawtopsy fucked around with this message at 15:32 on Apr 24, 2016 |

You can also use mines and intuitive attack vs camo markers. VVV E: thats what I meant, another tool vs camo that doesn't work vs impersonation. Seriously though, if two out of five players in my group (the one guy's wife might join with haqq as well) start to use impersonation regularly I might have to reconsider using the skiavoro at all. Sure it has G:Mnemonica, but I'll lose the strategos lvl 2 in the first turn. I guess I'll have to start minelaying my deployment zone to kill any impersonators going in. It still works if they reveal during their order. Not a viking fucked around with this message at 18:06 on Apr 24, 2016 |

Impersonation isn't a camo marker though, and you can't attack it at all until it's discovered

It's basically impossible without link teams or spending every single coordinated order to get all your 4-4 troopers out of the zone on turn 1. You can run troopers faster than 4-4, pray for good infiltration rolls, or run high-BTS models with more than 1W or NWI to leave in your deployment and tank the biotechvore hits while supplying orders. Keep in mind that anything with STR instead of Wounds takes two hits from being in the zone, so maybe Maruts aren't the best solution.

Acceptableloss posted:Do TO Camo and/or AD Combat Jump troops avoid the PHYS rolls by virtue of not being "deployed" ? The rule says you must make the roll whenever you attempt to deploy outside your deployment zone. I'd imagine that AD troops make the roll when they fly onto the board and TO Infiltrators make the roll during your deployment phase but I'm not sure. Another question is, does a trooper in Hidden Deployment suffer the BTS roll if it's hidden at the end of the game round?

TO Infils do it at deployment, yup. On BTV, I don't think they do, as Hidden Deployment models no longer suffer the effects of attacks/templates in N3, I do not know for certain if this is also means BTV Rolls. I haven't checked. Flipswitch fucked around with this message at 23:18 on Apr 29, 2016 |

Hey everyone, I'm new to Infinity and just got the Operation Icestorm starter pack. I love how the miniatures look but I wanted to ask a question. Which of the factions usually employs more remotes in their usual lists? I heard that if you want to go "All robot All the time" Aleph is the faction of choice, but I don't really dig how the Homeric units and characters look. Can I have a functional list using more awesome robot troopers and less Achilles and his whatever guard?
